Matt, really nice job covering the three color profiles on the Pocket 3. I agree with you and use the Standard color profile - the HLG is just way too much detail, especially in faces, for me. Look forward to your next video.

I was surprised by the “razor-burn” detail on my face in HLG. I’m all for 4K quality but, yikes! Thank you for responding.

I'd suggest shooting in D-Log, exposing properly and then using color grading or a LUT in post. With D-Log you have more flexibility to push certain stylized looks. Good luck! Let me know if that works out for you.

Off hand I couldn't since I use Blackmagic cameras in CST. I use the normal color profile for my KZbin posts since it's easier to process; time-wise, that is. I appreciate you.

They say that it correctly exposes your face even backlit if you use the normal color profile vs d log. D log don’t exposes the face, that would be an interesting test if you can

What setting would you use if you were trying to match to S-log3? D-Log M or HLG? Are there certain thing you would do in Resolve for each?

I would use DLog to matcb SLog footage. Keep in mind, SLog has more dynamic range and stops but the color balancing will be much easier. I'm linking to another video (not mine) that shows the DJI P3 being matched with Sony SLog footage kzbin.info/www/bejne/qGnLhXeGmthqfqs

@@Richard_Lutz ​ I would highly recommend a set of NDs for this unit. With the auto exposure on, you can get a high frame rate resulting in a super choppy image (think less motion blur) On the Mimo app, you'll get a histogram. If I'm in DLog I try to keep things centered to allow wiggle room in post processing. Here's a link to NDs : amzn.to/3T8YYDd

@@mattspadesoundandvision Good to know. I'm a professional video editor and I wasn't sure if there were any quirks with the camera. I know with Sony you have to overexpose by +1.7ish stops. I just wasn't sure if I needed to do something similar or underexpose for some particular reasons.

New Feature Requests for the New DJI OSMO Pocket 3 1. Add a dwelling time for each of up to four settable movement positions in Motion Time-Lapse Mode. As each of the four settable positions programmed into a motion time-lapse sequence is reached, the end user could set from 1 to 10 seconds of a pause in gimbal movement as each programmed position is reached during the sequence before the gimbal moves forward to the next programmed position. This would yield a much more dynamic and professional looking, smoother motion time-lapse sequence. 2. In Motion Time-Lapse Mode the ability to set movement ease in and ease out settings from 0.5 to 3 seconds for each programmable gimbal position before gimbal movement normal progression rate is reached. 3. True 24.00p filming speed. 4. The ability to set time-lapse sequences based on 24.00p. 5. The ability to be able to record from the DJI Mic 2 and from a plugged in via USB audio source at the same time. 6. Adding a 10 Bit 4:2:2 recordable video codec. 7. Please add zoom capability when shooting in all time-lapse modes.

Is normal the same as the Auto standard? What is the difference Standard Auto to 10 Bit normal? Which should i use of the both? I dont want to grade afterwards😀

I would highly recommend the Normal color profile, which I believe it’ll default to. No grading needed.

With HLG you arent supposed to view it on a SD monitor. Thats why it look worse.
