Venus has a better looking image, sucks that it has about a 1000 Kelvin boost and squeeze isn’t constant, you get better results at 1.52x overall, flares and image on saturn look more digital, I guess it’s a matter of personal taste, if you want a more film era look go for venus, if you want more modern digital look go for saturn 🎉

F1.6 isn't the full frame version right?. I only see t2.9 full frame versions. I ordered a f1.8 35mm but I'm afraid that it won't work on the 6k full frame . But it is L mount

Hi I have used all 3 now I am using final cut moving from Windows to iOS. If da Vinci had this 2 things I would switch again. 1. Responsive timeline with touch pad so I can zoom in out move left and right fast. 2. Magnetic timeline! I hated it at the beginning but there are projects where there it’s saves me so much time

Great video. Do you know if this will work nicely if we have some speed ramps done in Final Cut, and we do the roundtrip to Davinci and back? OR with 360 videos?

That’s a great question and one that I’ll have to test out with the speed ramping. I know is both NLEs do it. I’ve yet to edit 360 footage so I can’t answer that one.

@TheBikeFather 7 күн бұрын
@@mattspadesoundandvision thanks. I’ve just tried the speed ramping and it seems to be working just fine in DaVinci . However the 360 doesn’t work, as obviously, I forgot that DaVinci doesn’t have a built in reframer like Final Cut, and you need Karta VR to reframe 360 videos so when I import the XML inside DaVinci it gives me some errors with orientation

(And - yes, they could easily implement a false color and LUT tools, but nobody cares, nevermind) BMD just removed a BMPC4k fixing feature that peeople used. A feature adressing created due to BMD fault color bug. Then users did ask BMD for the Black Sun fix to be returned. Users just got ignored. Nothing but the facts. Cheers!

If I hear one more person, talk about Final Cut being faster than resolve, I’m going to throw up… People… Get a clue… Speed should never be your goal. Your goal should be quality, thoughtfulness, and content. When you say, Final Cut is faster… You mean you can make an edit in one second as opposed to two? What a ridiculous thought. Try to make better edits, more meaningful edits… Sure you don’t wanna be slow as a turtle, but speed is not a goal unless of course you’re in the Indianapolis 500.
@mattspadesoundandvision

In a situation where the video is for a client or maybe something you are making for yourself, I agree. I can understand the need for content creators to be able to speed up the process when they need to release material. Similarly, would be a news station back in the day (maybe now?) that is on a time crunch to make an edit. I do agree with your sentiment of taking the time to make better edits. I'm also assuming people mean that once you import footage you can work in proxies.

Hello, can you tell me please if there is any noise in this camera and the pictures are like from a phone? I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max and it looks good in portraits, but when I shoot a city or landscape there is a lot of noise even at minimum ISO. Pocket 2 has the same problem when shooting indoors it’s just noisy phone footage ... I'm thinking of buying Pocket 3 or it will be the same...??
@mattspadesoundandvision

This camera will introduce noise after an ISO of 3200. To an extent you can denoise in Resolve or any other NLE. As far as your phone goes, maybe your lens for the wide shot is dirty? Even in a case I always wipe down the lenses of I'm using my phone for anything useful.

Your video doesn't provide a proper comparison, as the recordings from the two cameras are not always the same. They are also cut together a little too quickly, so I don't have a real overview. But yes, color science has changed and has become very commercial since the bmpcc 4k- 6k pro or g2. In my opinion, the bmpcc og as well as the production 4k camera have better color science when it comes to that "cinematic feeling". But that doesn't mean that I can adjust recordings made with the 6k very well in post. Just think of the Arri Alexa mini, which in no way resembles the color profile of an older bmpcc and yet it still achieves really cinematic color profiles in post production. Perhaps in the past, with the older versions of the bmpcc series, we were given an easier starting point to get a little closer to that "cinematic feeling" right out of the box. With the bmpcc 4k, 6k, pro, G2 it depends more on your post production/color grading skills. The next video I'm going to watch on your channel is "5 Reasons Why You Need The Blackmagic Pocket Cindema 6k". I'm really excited 😉

I'm really not trying to be a troll here, but this is some of the worst footage I've seen out of a pocket camera. Which export settings did you use? Also, why does your footage look so magenta? Were you using the built-in NDs? (btw, I was watching in 4K. But it wasn't just the resolution that looked bad, but also the colors - that's why I'm kind of confused.)

@@carlos.sierra I appreciate the feedback. I’m curious if it’s a playback issue since I don’t see the magenta cast in the example footage: for the footage with me talking I went back and forth between and old Canon 6D, iPhone, or the BMPCC. Focal length is simply the point where the lens is at its "optical center" IT DOES NOT dictate field of view. Let me repeat that... focal length doesnt dictate Angle/FOV... you can expect a certain fov range at say 50mm typical listed in degrees... Try out 10 different 50mm lens on the same camera and due to this and other factors you will see a slight variation in whats in frame.
@mattspadesoundandvision
@mattspadesoundandvision 22 күн бұрын
Focal length does indeed influence the field of view. A 24mm provides a wider field of view, while a longer focal length such as an 85mm gives a narrower field of view. And while it is true that different lenses/ same focal length can have slight variations in FOV due to design differences, coatings, and optics, these variations are generally minimal, with the sensor size determining the primary FoV. While slight variations can occur between different lenses of the same focal length, the fundamental relationship between focal length and field of view is consistent and significant.

I've also recently made the move from Final Cut to Resolve. BUT Final Cut is still better at handling handling sound in multi-cam setups. It automatically removes empty sound channels, detects stereo vs. multichannel mono and lets you use multiple sound sources from a multi-cam clip. It's also better at sync'ing clips based on audio. I REALLY hope Resolve steps up in these areas with release 19.
