Hi Dave, great video. Can you provide a link for that stand that you’re using for your meter? Cheers mate

Great video. Traditional wisdom has been to profile to a spectro if you have one and if you don't, then use these profiles. However, I'm curious if that is no longer the case. Because QD-OLED's (And laser projectors) have such narrow spectral peaks of red, green, and blue, certain spectro's like the I1 Pro 3 will struggle with this high spectral resolution and thus don't accurately measure these displays. I would love to see how a QD-OLED profile of the C6 compares to that of a spectro with only 10nm spectral resolution and if you should ditch the spectro in that case. Thanks.

I put in my order last week and excited to test out the new meter coming from an old C3. 🤓

What meter profile would you select when using a 2024 Hisense UX series TV?

I create a custom profile for every TV I calibrate, regardless of whether I have already calibrated that exact model before or not.

I have a few questions regarding Delta E. 1. Is it a logarithmic scale? I understand it represents the difference between the true color and the displayed color. 2. What is the formula to compute Delta E? For instance, if the true color is 255,0,0 and the displayed color is 250,0,0, what will be the Delta E? 3. Is the Delta E formula the same for 10-bit color? For example, if 1020,0,1020 is displayed as 1020,10,1020, what will be the Delta E? As a certified engineer, I would appreciate an explanation that includes detailed mathematics. Thanks in advance. Cheers.

Great video. I do wonder though. Even the largest differences between the two meters (without the profile) are very very small in terms of percentages. Does that really make such a big difference in terms of the RGB balance settings in a display? If the difference between the meters is 1%, how many clicks in the RGB settings does that equal to for a specific color?

Realize I have so much to learn yet, even after buying the studio licence🤫

Instead of “suggesting” to *already paying* CalMAN customers that they “invest” even more money on Portrait Displays by buying a locked down colorimeter which exclusively works with CalMAN, you guys could kindly acknowledge the mere existence of X-Rite’s Display Plus HL and officially support it in CalMAN. Come on, you guys obviously use X-Rite’s hardware. The ill-fated C7 was exactly the Display Plus HL. You guys just change the firmware.

Don’t waste your time and money on calibration folks. It’s a pointless blackhole - If you’re a punta - pick a picture setting that’s pleasing to your eye. Leave it there. Sorted.
