I prefer the server rack batteries, as with the cabinet, makes them very easy to relocate.

RUIXIU has a 16kWh wall mount battery like the EG4 PowerPro that will be UL certified shortly (supposedly) and cost around $3K USD. Larger capacity for less money over the EG4. Not to mention, EG4 batteries have terrible BMS' in them with high failure rates. Wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole.

To me the wall mount would be good for an outdoor install if combining with an outdoor inverter like the 18k or solark, saving all your interior garage space. I have no garage so if/when I install something like this it will probably be either on the outside of my house or along the wall of my laundry room, near my outdoor main electrical panel.

There is a new battery I just saw has 9540A UL called liniotech tiny bit cheaper then power pros. It looks like they have ESS 9540A UL cert with Sol-ark probably a brand Sol-Ark has approved if you need to get it permitted. I heard even offgrid now some AHJ's are requiring 9540A ESS UL cert in California.

That would be awesome! I'm seeing it as pending still. Similar to many other manufactures(liniotech.com/liniotech-20-kwh-lifepo4-power-reserve-power-wall-battery-storage-12-years-warranty/). But yeah, If you live an California I think it's pretty important.

I like to save money. Lots of money. So I buy 4-12v 100ah Batteries from Amazon with free shipping. Then hook them in series with home made bus bars made from flattened copper tubing covered in heat shrink. The last set of 4 Chins batteries I paid $932. delivered. I use 2 Harbor Freight 3 shelve rolling carts to hold them. Each shelf holds a set of 4 batteries. Currently I have 20.4kw of batteries and add to it when I see a sale on any of the Enjoybot family of batteries. Chins, Ampere Time, Redodo, or Enjoybot. They're all the same manufacturer. The only thing missing is the communication but that's nothing I need. I have balancers on each set of 4 so if I want to see voltages I go look.

You didn't save money.😢 if you want to save money then buy raw cell from batteryhookup. You can get 16 x 3.2v 100 ah cell for $640 then add a 48v bms for $80 then add $80 for mailing. $800 get you 5kwh setup. Also you can build a wood box for $40 or buy a harbor freight modular tool box for $40.

@@brucey5585agree, the cost of wiring the 4 batteries, fuses, and balancers really add up. DIY raw cells is the least costly for big battery banks.

Another con is that if one section of that all in one battery fails the entire thing is dead. 6 sever rack batteries means 5 left over.

@@NeverTakeNoShortcuts That's why I am building for redundancy. 2 6000XPS, 6 LL 48v, extra breakers if they fail. I can't realistically go 'all solar' where I am due to the power company being greedy. So I'll be taking specific rooms off grid with a generator switch/critical loads panel setup. Should be fun and if anything breaks I have a backup of the backup! Ha!

@@boblupart862 Good thinking. The difficult thing is that a lot of these models/products go out of production and superseded by newer models pretty quickly with some of these vendors. Getting matching anything is really difficult after a couple of years. I had a SR battery go bad, and now I have a mismatched battery bank because the original battery was no longer available

I think you'll be fine with either one. I wouldn't have any concerns buying from either one of them. For tough questions, They will ask their work colleagues until they can find the answer for you. I have had more experience with signature solar but current connected seems like they have a very good support team also... they claim to have a smaller more well-trained team but I have only called them a few times.

Unless that battery cabinet under your breaker panel has wheels, that is as bad of location possible for it. Its a terrible choice to begin with and a dangerous choice at best with or without wheels.
