When I bought my EG4 server rack batteries I paid $1,621 with taxes and picked them up one at a time in SS Texas. It’s great to see the reduction in cost and improvements in quality in just a few years. I don’t regret having paid a little more as an early adopter since my DIY self consumption system is paying for itself quickly. Even if this battery is a little less expensive I will still buy expansion batteries at Signature Solar because they are close by and have been very helpful to me with their customer service.

Not certified as an ESS with any inverter most AHJ's are requiring ESS 9540A which means battery and the inverter have to be certified together. EG4-18kpv and their power pro battery have this certification. Verify with your AHJ, and Electric utility you can legally use the RuiXU.

In these days of more inflation, it's great to see this big battery come in at 21 cents per watt. Better put some kind of brackets or straps on the thing as it looks like it could be a potential tipping hazard. But, taking up so little floor space is a big plus. We have some big changes coming from solar and battery tariffs just put in place by the Biden administration on Aug 1st. We will have to see what happens to the pricing. Apparently the tariffs are increased by 50% so I'm not sure what will happen to pricing on these units / solar.

Thanks for the video; I do have one gripe. I have two Sungold Bluepower wall batteries and two Aolithium rack mount batteries; both sets of batteries use the now prolific push on connectors, but the Sungold and Aolithium use DIFFERENT SIZE push on connectors which are ONLY available from Sungold or Aolithium at considerable expense and wait times. They are NOT compatible and need to go to buss bars for connection to my inverter. Would love to get one of these Ruixu batteries, but don't need the headache of another incompatible battery push on connector problem. The only thing I see as standard with all these new batteries is there is NO standard connector. Dang it.
@Jasonoid

Yeah, I wish they all used a standard push connector too! It's quite annoying. I say connect them all together using some heavy duty bus bars and you'll be golden. I've connected my 5kwh and the Ruixu together using their busbars. They are rated at 600 amps. They have been working well in parallel.

Hello 👋, Just wanted to pass on some info for your plug struggles. The most commonly used connectors are "DEGSON" style (or knock offs of the real thing) connectors. They can be found online in most all AWG & Millimeter standards. If you want Current Connected typically have & or can get them directly from the manufacturer 👍 You'll need a good crimper though hydraulic preferably.! Hope this helps 🙏 all my best to you both. P.S. please, please, please be cautious here though. Different battery types, charge parameters, and C rates (change/discharge rates) need to be carefully calculated here! Direct connect wires even seen here on the video with non-fused or true DC rated breakers will cause wires to rapidly decay and cause fire hazard...

I just finished my first diy using the EG4 inverter and their LL battery you showed on a hand truck to power a window unit during my outages. I won't use solar panels as I do not have enough of them to create the 120V to start charging, but I have the inverter generators I can use for charging during outages. I was wondering that RUiXU seems pretty much plug and play as well. What inverter are you planning to use with it. Now that I built mine you come up with this battery and it has wheels. Seems like a great battery and can't wait for you to make the comparison with the Ultra from EcoFlow. As alway great video.

@Senthiuz

Those are your best options. In most other setups, microinverters anti-islanding will disable the array, or it won't charge batteries off the gen port, or there isn't a gen/non-grid AC input. Unfortunately, it's still probably cheaper to buy an unnecessary AIO and DC battery than it is to buy an AC coupled battery.

I recommend finding residential 400w solar panels brand new for $150 or so. Here's a video on that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pn21fJ-gn8akg6M

I love these form factors, like the EG4 version of this. But this has wheels. Nice!

Have you ever tried calling RUiXU customer support? If you do I hope you can speak Chinese or Mandarin.

I haven't tried calling them. The best way to communicate is via email or their Facebook group. They have been really responsive to my emails.

"I do plan to do a future video". That's great. I do plan to give you a thumb's up in the future. "Here's something I really like" -- without a WHY you like like it, waste of a moment. "Simple plug connector" - What, too hard to say which standard the connector adheres to? So based on your review I can't tell what it would plut ingo. Fail. Dude, good try. Fail. But good try. Get a day job.

UL listed LFP batteries don't have a fire risk. You think these are lithium ion?

@@Jasonoid... I'm very glad this issue came up! I've been wondering how much risk it is to have these batteries inside a house. So LFP batteries aren't a fire risk? If they were, all these solar generator companies would be selling time bombs. I need to check this out. Thx!

@@mosler302 no fire risk with LFP 👍 (at least nothing like lithium ion batteries). In order to be UL listed as a 'lithium' battery it needs to have a fire suppression system built in.

These are Lithium IRON Phosphate NOT Lithium ION batteries. A little research will settle your nerves. Cheers!
