@@softspoketello8895 Feather duster was absolutely my favorite keepsake when I was starting out, because it provided enough heals to pretty much keep up with the amount of damage I was taking. It's no longer my favorite, because I've gotten good enough at not taking damage in the first place, but it was definitely my favorite for a while.

Best use of Empty Inside, for me anyway, is when it's used with the duo with Ares where Weak foes continue to take Doom damage as long as Weak is active on them so the longer the better. That was the only benefit I found with that boon.

You can use it for the duo boon with Artemis so that you don’t have to keep using your weak hits and you can use it in combination with the boom that gives you more damages for weak foes for the same reason.

That duo (curse of longing?) is super super bad. Each hit only does half as much damage as the previous one so even if you had infinite duration Weak it would still be less damage than... just hitting and activating doom twice.

My worst fight with that was me killing the summoned soldiers for like 3 or 4 minutes- thinking it was part of the boss- before zagrius mentioned that they would keep coming back. In my defence there is no precident for those guys infinitely spawning in a boss room.

this is a great idea! i'd love to see you try it again, but choosing boons and hammer rewards wherever possible and only instituting the bad choice rule once it's time to pick one of the three. that way the fun would be in creating a really discordant build instead of scraping by with minimal rewards, like how much of this run ended up.

Ok so I inadvertently discovered something amazing. Doing a claws of enkidu run, ended up with 6 dashes. Did a full Zeus dash build it is the most insane Zeus I could ever imagine. I'm in elysium now, I got the splitting bolt, I have a good aphro boon on the attack and I'm not even using it anymore. Enkidu-zeus dash destroys. Just had to share that. Side note. Maim increases the Zeus damage, this just became broken.

Yeah, I (mostly) accidentally did that at some point and realized that this is when Zeus sucks until he doesn't. Although I probably had Eris at the time, this thing makes such damage sources obnoxious. But I'm not even sure about it.

The logical processes you use to determine which options are better and best are simultaneously also determining which are worse or worst in a way essentially similar to comparing numeric values (eg. 10 is 3 more than 7, therefore 7 is 3 less than 10). In other words, however precisely worse you think apple juice is than orange juice, it stands to reason that you think orange juice is exactly that much better than apple juice... for all the same exact reasons that A is "better than" B, B is "worse than" A. This is most evident when offered only 2 options as you naturally attempt to differentiate and compare them. More options means less black and white choices and more of a spectrum of decisions ranging from worst to best. If you ask "is this good?" that "good" needs to be in CONTRAST to something- fully and equally opposite for "bad" as they require each other to define themselves in this case.

I think that this run could be made a lot more interesting for the player with the following changes. It would require a lot of work and acquisition of data though :( - Create a full list of boons and hammers ordered by winrate, then always take the lowest winrate boon. (This allows for accidental synergies, and fun) - Have a tier list of items from the well, the player is allowed to buy the lowest 2 winrate items in the well. - You must buy all items from the shop, or wait till the next one. (If you know that you don't have the gold for the shop, you may skip it or take the freebie floor) - Door choices are made according to Hammer/Boon/Event > centaur heart > gold/pom > darkness/gems. Gates and Chaos are optional, but choices made in those areas are still subject to the rules. - You are allowed to use re-rolls on doors and purging pools. - Worst Mirror ofc. - One of the three lowest winrate aspects. - Skelly summon because I have animosity.

Because when you’re pushing a new heat, bosses don’t drop darkness. And after you’ve maxed the mirror and turned on Dark Foresight, you see less darkness doors anyway. And there are no darkness rooms in Styx, whereas there are lots of little, short chambers, for Cthonic Vitality to constantly heal you on.

This is me when I try to do high heat runs with approval process maxed. I feel like I’m working with garbage. Poseidon Attack is worse than no boon IMO unless you’re using one of the bows and you get rapid fire with a hammer. It’s pretty good then.

Poseidon attack is kinda okay on shield, mostly zag one. Standing strikes + Poseidon mean things gonna fly. Even if you don't have proper support for that build, for a while you can get by by slamming stuff against all the walls. Will definitely need something for bosses. Honestly though, maxed AP is horrible.

man, the amount of aphrodite on this one was truly unfortunate XD i think it could have been salvageable if you had to take bad boons from gods that actually like... do something with their boons i'd love to see a second run like this, except you take every opportunity to make a bad choice that you can get. no single item doors if there's a door where you can pick a boon, hammer, or pom instead. complete and utter chaos. 0 boon synergy. powering up boons no one in their right mind should ever power up. one godling's quest to make many, many bad choices i really enjoyed the video! i was surprised how often i agreed with your choices - maybe i'm not as bad at this game as i thought i was XD

I'd say in this instance the worst keepsake would have been shackle. Unless you're doing a boonless run or build specifically around the slot you are leaving empty then that mofo falls off by the time you're halfway done with Tartarus. Giving you not even a remote chance of benefit.

Just out of curiosity, is the one hammer that makes zag spear good chain skewer? I had that combo last night with lots of Zeus and an epic special speed. One of my fastest clears. Edit: I found your videos when getting past the champions with no heat felt impossible. I just got my 32 heat statue.

Viscous skewer would still increases the base damage of the special but wouldn't increase the lightning damage at all. Like this: (base damage x 1.5) + Lightning damage. Whereas with Aphrodite or something on the special, it would be base damage x 2.3. The 2.3 comes from 80% + 50% stacking additively to 130%. There are some things that can increase lightning damage, like Eris rail and Talos fists, but, for the most part, the damage from lightning doesn't scale. That's why we like it on weapons that do lots small attacks quickly.

I don't really think the run is possible with those rules unless you get insane luck... if you try it again maybe it's just that you have to pick the worst option only when forced to do so. So for example you could buy items from charon or wells. I think you should also be able to pick whatever weapon and aspect that you want, it's still going to be bad with worst choices.
