I'm Caucasian and I'm realizing the reason I never had "rhythm" is because I wasn't emersed with music growing up. I've noticed a lot of African, black, even Latin communities are fully emersed in music from a very early age. So, to me it makes sense why a lot of my fellow Caucasians might not have rhythm unless exposed to it.
