I really cherish your choice in repertoire. Your sensitivity in this piece is perfect to my ears. That feeling of a child lost in an adults world. A certain innocence is attached here that is just wonderful. I really hope you play more mazurkas. You have a unique opportunity with this channel to bring some lesser known repertoire to a broad audience. I think many people have never heard the mazurkas.

Very nice effect here; like a period peice, visually. Even Liszt said he didn't understand the Mazukas. It's like Chopin went off into a world alone and wrote them. Certainly different from everything else he composed for his instrument. Artur ( Arthur ) Rubinstein recorded all of them. And I have a much sort after collection by the Great William Kapell; all of them as well. If you can find it anywhere, grab it up. It's unique. I have Mr. Rubinstein's also. A musical goldmine.

My beloved favorite Mazurka♡♡ The greatest ending imo of all 51 Mazurkas. .....A note changes in each chord, creating the leading tone. Then, like the snuffing out of a candle, Chopin extinguishes the piece. He simply stops. It is one of the most remarkable endings of any piece I know. When I play this mazurka, I think of a conversation between two people. I watch their faces as they talk. They are sharing something which happened long ago about which only they know. Their words overlap and weave together. And I know the scene before me, unique in that particular moment, will end and I will no longer be able to appreciate its beauty. It is painful to look at. So I close my eyes. The scene is no more. The piece simply stops.

I've been getting that random phrase at 0:51 in my head for weeks, and I knew it perfectly, even the notes themselves, but I never knew where it was from, but it seemed so recognisable. Now I know. Chopins music is so enchanting that it flows within you, you can create chopin in your head. Many of the melodies are heard as if you have had prior knowledge of them, as if they have come from within you. But of course this defies physics, but still its real. That's the beauty of Chopin, he sought only to portray humanity in music, not just sound, not just for intellectual satisfaction or enjoyment. This revolution in music was foundation for the romanticism in music, and this lived on for many years after his death. First through other romantics, such as Liszt and Schumann, and then all the way to the greats of the 20th century, from Scriabin to Rachmaninoff to Debussy. Even now it lives, though those who study romantic works, and compose in their style. Its like he had his own musical language, seperate and unrelated from the previous greats. I only ever heard the piece once, on this video, about 3 or 4 months ago, and didn't even pay too much attention to it, but yet a random part lasting a couple of seconds stuck in my head.

@@setricesimus c'est futile de penser ça quand tu jettes, rien qu'un coup d'œil, à toutes ses autres œuvres. Je peux citer les Ballades, les Scherzos, les Impromptus. All of his music is in the Mazurkas, isn't it? Short form, which he liked, very expressive, and harmonically new to the world of music, Chopin challenged all established musical thinking, expanding upon Beethoven's ideal but in a way more akin to Bach but in reality wholly original. Chopin is the greatest composer, just like Bach.

As a amateur pianist, I often get inspired by many great pieces and some of them go into my bucket list if the level is within my confort zone… Well this is one of them and I’ve just started it this week and realised it’s way too difficult to play well.. you really need to be extremely musical to bring out this mazurka with natural rhythm and rubato and put a subtle colour changes and nuance on every notes which I don’t have… 😔 I will give it a go for the next few months but seriously it’s a musical piece you can test if you are a born musician or not.

Amazing performance; have you considered making a discord server? I think you would be the only pianist i know of to have one and it would an amazing way to connect with fans and what not; if you dont know how that all works, i can set it up and help :)
