Ballade #1 op 8 from FX Scharwenka is usually (yet IMAO improperly) referred to as Chopin's Ballade #5. It's a wonderful work, don't get me wrong, but Chopin's caliber is obviously higher. Regradless, FX & Ph Scharwenka are absolutely worth to be known more than they are. PS: excellent completion of this precious Chopin's fragment and nicely executed

wow! very creative and poetic! nice recycled motif usages in the B section (one with c major, a minor relative and f major modulations) and much more variety in the A2 section (a minor theme) and the C section is just too lovely, full of blooming gardens and pollens of flowers! i also how it recapitulated after the C section (A major). the coda is very profoundly bittersweet and sorrowful. very much deserved! you now have my admiration, sir!

This is really incredible! Your portions sound just like Chopin (I would not question it if I heard this version originally). I have always wanted to compose a Romantic piece. Do you begin with a chord progression or the melody? I typically hear a melody in my head and try to add chords based on the key signature, but often the progression does not fit well. Do you have any advice?
@shivang152 ай бұрын
Always start with melody just like Chopin did. It doesn’t matter that Chopin likes his major bridges to minor pieces, it doesn’t matter that he adds the hook in the chorus with a faster tempo. Chopin is melodic and the chords just seem to harmonize the melody. This is true for the waltz in C# minor. It’s true in so many places. His harmonization is unique and yours will be too. Chopin wanted the piano to sing. And sing his piano does- even if for a very few phrases like the ballade in G minor.
