This is the first time I have heard this nocturne in its entirety, and this is one of the most beautiful pieces I have heard as of yet. Thank you for your wonderful performance Denis!

During one of the darkest times in human history, this is the very piece of music that was performed by two jewish pianists, Władysław Szpilman and Natalia Karp, and touched even the blackened, buried heart and soul of, not one, but two SS officers. Two pianists separated by countless miles of desolation and destruction, who coincidentally decided to play the exact same piece, as if reunited through the beauty of art and music, beauty that doesn't know any borders. Thinking it was going to be the last time they would feel the keys of a piano, the Nocturne reignited the forgotten light of humanity even in the most evil individuals, for a few minutes, and made them spare their lives... Balada n° 1, a peça tocada, eu acho. Se não me engano, ele conta no livro. O filme fez uma adaptação para uma peça mais curta (o noturno do vídeo).

No he originally played this nocturne. In the movie the changed it into balade no1. But i dont know why they did this

Hi Denis, I just purchased the course. I'm not particularly skilled, nor young. However, I studied for a few years when I was younger and I enjoy playing a small personal repertoire. I'm sure there will be useful and professional tips as always. I hope to manage it in a few months. Thank you so much for sharing this.

I am tempted again to purchase this tutorial also, although this piece goes far beyond my head and my abilities. Interesting choice to repeat the tied note in measure 7. Care to explain why - are you just a wild guy? Hahaha. Also why the piano marcato in measure 27 (I don't know what else to call it) although it's indicated legato? These are interesting and remarkable choices. I don't even think I ever heard somebody play so softly at this spot also (piano, soto voce), which does seem the more appropriate choice.

There are various score versions of this piece. Yes, I care about the score a lot, but it's so cool to play what feels reasonable yet contradicting to the original. Romantic music absolutely allows this. In Beethoven I wouldn't do such things (maybe)
