Great lesson! I almost decided to not learn the piece cause I thought "how the hell am I going to fit 11 notes in the span of 6 eighth notes... Crap I need an actual instructor for this" but your explanation of 8 16th notes plus an 8th note triplet makes so much sense! And then you just do that twice for the measure with 22 notes... It's brilliant.

Love it !! I'm 72 and I've spent two years learning this. I'm getting all the notes right now, but still a long way to go. My teacher told me that the fingering marked on the sheet music is there for a reason and I should pay attention to it, instead of doing it the way I wanted to .... so I did and that made a big difference. 🙂

So one day I played the single notes on my husband’s keyboard and was thrilled that I was able to do this, and desired to play the piece in its entirety. Thanks so much, because I am more motivated to listen to play a piece I love, therefore eager to learn to play.

This has been a great help, thank you. At 15:43 you mention a change in the usual order of notes for the left hand, but that change doesn’t appear on any notation I can find. I’ve looked at a dozen or more different published sheets. I’m inclined to trust you on this, but just curious where you’re getting that from? Thanks!
@luishenriquevilela70014 жыл бұрын
It's been 6 months since you asked this. I've just noticed this as well, I hope I get an answer! You just DON'T make these things up. I looked at a lot of other sheets (including Paderewski Edition, which is a highly reliable one) and that change doesn't appear...

Hey man, awesome tutorial!! I just have one question: In 15:44 you mention a change in the 11th measure of the score's progression (instead of the default Bb-F-Db-Bb-F-F, Chopin plays Bb-F-Db-Bb-F-F). However, in my music sheet, it doesn't show this change (it just keeps on the default). I've also checked on a video of Rubinstein playing this Nocturne, and in the sheet on the video, as well as the audio of him playing, it just sticks to the default. Do you have any reference of this change? Because I've looked it up (before really posting this comment) some other sheets of this Nocturne, and couldn't find this change. Of course, it doesn't mess with the whole purpose of the tutorial! Great tutorial, as I said! :) just wanted to know where this change came from! Haha PS: the sheet you provide in the description of the video does not do it as well.
