Although it was painful to do so, it had to be done. It was getting too hard to care for it with the size it was, so it was time!

Amazing video! Thank you for sharing your experience on how to remove cuttings from an established moss pole. Oh and your Monstera was one of the most beautiful one I’ve ever seen on a moss pole.

Gorgeous Monstera Albo Phil! I did this myself recently and separating the moss from all the roots was a tedious task. I grew my Albo's on a Grow Thiccly poll so I didn't have to deal with a wire mesh. When I do this again I am going to try Molly's aroid mix instead of moss so when it is time to chop maybe it will be easier to separate. I am happy to say all my cuttings are thriving, this method is the only way to go! Beautiful job Phil and thank you for this great video!

My first monstera is on the way right now and I can’t wait for it to get delivered! I’d love to know how you keep it so white? Do you add silica? Thanks!

@@marinalex4702 good luck with yours!! They are amazing plants 💚 and I actually do not use silica. I attribute the whites staying white for so long on having majority balanced variegation and keeping the care for it as consistent as possible!

@@Harryazouz it was on a moss pole! It wasn’t completely straight up but they grow in the direction where they can latch on to.

@@Harryazouz yeah! They are aerial roots that grow into a moss pole! I kept the moss pole well hydrated as well and it essentially works as an extension to the pot to help the plant take up more water & nutrients through the pole as well!
