I cut a small clear plastic cup down the side and use it as a moss collar. It keeps the aerial roots forming at the top of the plant moist and redirects them back into the pot to form a larger root system. I don’t have to up pot them as often this way too. Or, you can give them a moss pole so they have more substrate to grow into. 😊

33:55 i find CalMag really helps with older leaves yellowing off when a new leaf come up, especially when i do foliar-feed instead of root-feed. Because the nutrients intake when you foliar feed is much higher and quicker. Growers/Horticulturist usually foliar-feed their deficient crops to fix them up, then go back to root-feed when their plants start to be healthy. Tho i mostly do foliar-feed on my plant collection because it's just fun to spray them lol

@@dewantoroo this is so insightful! Thank you! Do you have a certain rule you follow in terms of dilution of foliar feed?

I keep all my anthuriums in sphagnum now so they don’t have to live in a cabinet or higher humidity environment. Long as the root zone is kept humid (eg with moss), they grow really well for me. 😊 I love king of spades too. I just up potted mine last night. 😊
@philobrandon13 күн бұрын
@@candied.crabapples do you keep all of your anthuriums in it long term? Like forever?! 😅 I’m always so intrigued to know if that’s possible with them.
@candied.crabapples13 күн бұрын
@@philobrandon I’ve kept mine in there for over a year now, it’s fine. I don’t pack the moss super tight, just no large air pockets. Clear containers (I use deli containers from Amazon) are really good for this 😊

Just found your channel. 😊 when I first started my plants journey, I thought all anthuriums looked the same with the heart leaf shape and venation. 😅 now I’m able to tell the differences and I have a few favourites. 😊
