Very helpful- I was looking all over for a chart like this to use with the violin and didn't know what to search for. Thanks very much.

Ive been playing guitar for awhile and I was today years old when i found out about this. This is so useful for a singing guitarist tbh, i always wondered how the hell does someone play a song if its in the B key as the chords are all pretty scary, but i found out you would actually turn that into a C by putting on a capo. Cant believe im this dumb.

My class was the first not to learn how to read music😢 I started 1st grade in 1968 My brother tried to teach me but I never went beyond single notes😂 I was 16 when I started to learn cords to play guitar that was easy for me😊 I still love to learn now that I am 62😂

Nice video. Was pleased to see you clarified that the chords you presented were variations. It could seem confusing to a beginner watching this that the chords in the various keys weren't all the same.

Going to ask a question here.....I know one can use a capo to get the Key they wish...My question is how do you know which key is right for ones voice ? Myself I am old and deep and raspy voice...I would assume a G or perhaps an E type Key may be within that voice...BUT is it ? ...how can one really know what key is best for their voice...is there a way to know for sure..Simplified ?...lol Thanks Jonathan

Hey Ed. When I'm trying to find a key that I can sing to, I try out the particular song in different keys. I start with the key I find it in, and if it's too low for my voice, I put the capo on the fret board and move up one fret at a time until I find the right key. If it's too high for my voice, I will transpose the song to a lower key. So if the song is in G, but that's too high for me, I can transpose it to the key of E (3 steps down) and see if that works. So basically, you just play around with it, changing keys, until you find the spot that works for you. I find that some songs in E are great for me to sing in, and others are very high. So it also depends on the song, and in my opinion its hard to tell just by the key. You have to try it out and make adjustments.
