Awesome, I've watched all your videos since we went into lockdown in the uk and around the last Blues Saraceno lesson you did a few months ago.... Just started getting into playing Reggae on the guitar again last week and now you pop up with this Chordplay lesson! I don't like it Dave I Love it!

The Clash got me into reggae. They were a band unafraid of exploring different soundscapes, specially obscure genres like reggae dub. Their song Armaggedon Time is such a classic track for me.

Really appreciate this lesson David. I've been exploring reggae progressions with my guitar tutor for the past 6 months and most recently, we've been studying the different chord shapes and triads in the upper register. I found your lesson very helpful. Thank you for your awesome videos!

Great video, thanks. Re your list of influenced songs, for me by far the best reggae influenced Rush song is The Enemy Within from Grace Under Pressure. A classic. Another worthy mention is the solo section of Tokyo Nights by Krokus from Metal Rendez-Vous. (And while unrelated to the topic of this video check out Fire on that album if you don't know it. Some of the greatest solo playing ever.)

Its refreshing to see reggae being taught correctly with downstrokes, most dont however there is one aspect of your sound here that is absolutely ruining this lesson and thats your overdrive tone. Reggae rhythm is clean. Please consider turning it off and see how much better it sounds. Chords could be killed a little quicker too so they dont ring out so much.
