Mayoeba Toutoshi is so cool, it's the final song of the show, they are doing their best, the song means something like "It's okay to be lost" and represents the theme of "seishun" or "youth". You should react to Dokubana! Their debut single.

The final song of the show and they are giving it their all. They are pouring out their hearts and going for a complete combustion. This is the Atarashii Gakko i love: the raw, unrefined, emotional explosion that is full of both desperation and happiness.

Can't wait to see them live on their first North American Tour! Got tickets to the Seishun Tour date in Toronto! Every live show I've seen of them, they give everything they've got to their performance.

The song title, 'Mayoeba To(u)toshi' (迷えば尊し) is a pun on 'Aogeba To(u)toshi' (仰げば尊し). And the original one is a standard song at Japanese school graduation ceremonies. My own translation to the original one, is 'Look up my school days, and it is precious'. The lyrics are about the graduates reflecting on their school lives and thanking their teachers. On the other hand, The meaning of AG's song is something like 'It is precious to be lost the ways'. I believe the song is representative of their musical theme of 'youth'(Seishun, 青春). Then as for the live video you chose, it is so good. It really shows the energy of the girls in their live shows. I also saw them live in May at Hibiya, Tokyo, and they had full of energy and very good. They are completely different from the existing idol groups in Japan. Incidentally, some people in Japan are both AG and BABYMETAL fans. That means me, haha. I believe the two are similar, although they are in different genre of music.

In case anyone hasn't told you, Atarashsii Gokko means "New School". Sazuka is a former Japanese street dancer. Rin is a free form dancer and a DJ.

Hi Xi, if you do review Maningen, they have 3 versions now. I recommend reviewing the "Choreography Video Studio Version" (most recent) over either the "Official Choreography Video Drone Version" or the "Official Music Video". I think it provides the fullest choreography experience, though the drone version will work, too. Definitely watch the official music video later though, because it's pretty cool. Also, as a prequel (or maybe reacting to it at the end of your full review), I recommend watching their short TT where they are blocking out the choreography for the studio version, based on the available space and camera placement. I found it fascinating even though I suppose it's normal prep. It's on their AtarashiiGakko staff channel. Wow, that's a lot of Maningen! Thanks as always for your interesting insight.

They often use this as the last song in a concert. It's all about encouraging people to have self confidence. AG are obviously exhausted so we get a few flat notes, but I don't want perfection when I can get heart and soul and AG always deliver that. Next I recommend SNS24 which is a critique of modern phone and social media use. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z4Sqnqmtga6bn6M

I thought I had seen all the AG stuff on Atoll, but I guess not! Thanks for the link. Very theatrical performance, but I don't think there is a lot of complex choreography to analyze.

@@BoingoCat The dancing isn't technically difficult, but they've matched it really well to the music as it changes from free jazz to pop and back again. I also like their willingness to just stand still and pose.

I am surprised that you haven't watched Maningen and its choreography video. It deals a lot with puppetry and might be one of my favorite choreographies from Atarashii Gakko.

Hard work put in by these ladies! A frantically cool song, but those heavy looking outfits can't help by the end of a show! Perhaps they are light as a feather? AG are in the US, but too far away from me to go. I will get to see Babymetal later this month!
