I am not sure you mentioned it. But for me, the people I needed to lead me came to me as the people closest to me were dropping me like flies. You described spiritual awakening pretty good. It was a process and it took time. It was for sure a very traumatic time in my life - very painful. But I would never go back and am journeying along in my faith.
