Topic 2: Utilizing Jewish Sources To Better Understand The New Testament By Joe Shulam

Joseph Shulam was born in Sofia, Bulgaria on March 24, 1946 to a Sephardic Jewish family. In 1948, his family immigrated to Israel just before the establishment of the State. Joseph studied biblical archeology and Jewish thought in the Second Temple period at the Hebrew University, as well as New Testament and Chemistry at the David Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. In addition, Mr. Shulam studied at an Orthodox Jewish Yeshiva (rabbinical college) in Jerusalem. Joseph is the founder of Netivyah Bible Instruction Ministry based in Jerusalem. Netivyah is an organization of Jewish disciples of Yeshua the Messiah. It is engaged in study, research, and publication of academic materials and commentaries on the Jewish foundations of the New Testament. Netivyah is also active in providing humanitarian aid and food for those in need in Jerusalem.

Mr Shulman has the same understanding of Ha-shem as my Zada ( grandfather)on his 90th year, told me as such, just before I graduated from rabbinical school, I have wrestled with this for 24 years only, many would say that I have lost everything in my life. I understand that I have only found fulfillment and who I am able to be in relationship with Ha-shem, that He revealed Himself in Ye-hua. Still have no contact with many of my family members and friends, even thought I still have contact with my Zada ( who is 104 years old in Kislev 5781 ) even though it was my family's tradition was to be a rabbi ( for 3000 years ) I am always learning and amazed with ALL that Ye-hua has and will do. 🕎🌏🌍🌎✝️

@@Ben-di3me Thank-you for your kind words, I understand that Ha-shem has made me a bit different than most and given me different experiences ( another part of my story with Him )at the moment I am not to comfortable with crowds 🙄 in saying that, I am ready to do what ever Ye-hua requires of me, in and through the power of the Ru-ch Ha_Qodesh. And when Ye-hua returns to set up the Eternal Kingdom of Ha-shem and I / we will be PERFECT and things will be completely different. Also if you are able to watch the TV show also to download on phone or computer called " The Chosen " if you notice the character " Matthew " we are similar in our manner 🙄 I was diagnosed as an Asburger savont. I know that I will meet you at the resurrection, and personally, I am glad that we are going to live eternally because I have met many members of my family ( in Ye-hua ) and still many more to meet. 🕎🌎🌍🌏✝️

I ask my Old Father in Israel ( The Church) back in 85 as I recall what He Thought about The Father Bring Natural Jews into The Grace Day Church ? I expected some Scriptures and An exhortation; But He just dropped His head; long enough for me to wonder if He was even gonna honor me with an Answer ! Then He Looked up and said Simply and Power “What A Heaven That Will Be” And so it is, Thank God He Has Blessed me to live to be a Witness, to This long awaited and Prayed for Return !!!

My Jewish Source for The New and Old Testaments is My King Yeshua The living Word. When His Father and My Father Re-Borns us We Then Have Knowledge of The Holy ! Now According to GOD’s Purpose we Get The Baptism of fire and the Holy Ghost and then are able to worship God in spirit and in truth amen amen!!! 16:30 I must disagree with him. Jesus warns against the traditions of the elders. Paul did not follow them, he chewed out Peter for not eating with gentiles (tradition). He also chose only to keep the tradition of not eating meat sacrificed to idols, strangled animals and blood - but not any other dietary laws/traditions when he was asked to write recommendations for the gentile believers. If he kept the traditions, then he would have been more strict when given the opportunity. Not to mention, when the Galatians want to be circumcised, Paul talks them out of it!

Yeshua only rejected those traditions that were false. He celebrated Hannukah, for example, which comes from the Traditions. Many people have also pointed out how many of his teachings derive from things that can be found in the Traditions, which was also the case with Paul. For example, when Paul identified Yeshua as the rock that traveled with the Israelites in the desert, that comes from the Traditions.
