Be encouraged. Fasting requires tenacity. Fighting with the fleshy desires . You go without eating,, drinking only water . Some drink a variety of liquids . Some drink only juice . True fasting is not eating or drinking anything. Animals do this when they are sick. .we do this when we sleep 8 hours no food or drink , do try each day to delay eating,then only eat one meal a day . You will build up to where you can go without food , drink water when you start to get hungry .

I have had serious regrets about the ‘Church of Christ’ teachings on the Restoration Movement efforts both in the initial years and ever since. I obeyed the good news of Jesus the Christ, Anointed Savior, as a teenager and now, near age 88 remain skeptical and sincerely believe we are failing to teach His Will. 28:18 - I subscribed to your channel and I get a lot from what you teach. I thank God for you and your people.. but I think you're wrong with one thing, my brother.. I was wrong with this thing for about 20 yrs!!! ;-) I think it's God's grace that each of us can see a part of the whole picture so we may share and encourage each other! :-D I love what you teach in the most of it therefore I subscribed to your channel as it's of a great value to me but on this bit about "how many times does the bible say about "church" I would say - ZERO TIMES, as Ekklesia is not "church". W.Tyndale didn't use the word church in his N.T. translation(except 2 places where he describes a pagan temple! ;-] ) , due to its pagan origin (kuriake oikos - house of the lord, but they meant- Roman/Persian lord Mithra) So the word "church" is not a translation but a substitute advancing the idea that the church is an institution, ruled by the clergy. Many times EKKLESIA is used in the Greek and Latin O.T. and it relates to Ekklesia Israel or Ekklesia Domini. This means EKKLESIA is The Whole Israel (sons of Jacob + grafted converts from among pagans). That would mean there is no "Israel AND church" but there is "WHOLE ISRAEL" which is The Ekklesia ("church"). This also means that Yeshua didn't establish "the church" on Shavuot but He fulfilled the promise of the Spirit Restoration from Jer.31.31! :-) So we may say that the EKKLESIA DOMINI was established during first Exodus from Egypt but restored on Pentecost Day! :-) On Shavuot (Pentecost) the already existing Ekklesia was restored and revived by Ruah HaKodesh, which I can see as the fulfilment of promises of the Spirit from Jer.31 and Ez.36 The further proof of the manipulative nature of the word "church" may be found in the Stephen's sermon when he mentions Moses being in the EKKLESIA in the wilderness- why translators don't put Moses in the "church"??? Because they want to keep God's Assembly of N.T. away from the TORAH! Another chapter of Acts 19,39 - why they put there "lawful assembly"(ekklesia) instead of "lawful church", in the context of a pagan meeting? I guess it's for the same reason- they want to keep the word "church" EXCLUSIVE for the deceitful idea that Yeshua established some new "device" for pagan believers, a type of religion in which a full obedience to God's Commands is not obligatory for all but a new type of "democratic church" for pagans got established in which they can still keep their pagan practices called sometimes "a cultural diversity", like for example consumption of unclean animals. So this way Jesus became rather not the example for pagans but rather an excuse for not keeping of the Torah. Diversity is OK unless it doesn't breach the established Instructions of God. btw, I'm a convert from pagans myself.. If the SIN is by definition- transgression of God's Commands then a pagan convert calling pork a MEAL or a FOOD, practices activity contrary to the holiness of God (Lev.11) and spreads false teaching that converts from pagans may stay ignorant of the Torah by insisting on calling unclean meets the FOOD. I think such situation doesn't bring glory to the Almighty but rather keeps people in darkness.. ufff.. It was quite long post.. I tried to express my understanding of the whole issue the best way I can.. I will gladly answer any questions and I'm open for any corrections.. Shalom. :-)

I would love to study with bro Shulam. There's a few things we can clear up which the scriptures ie. He says the nations came out of the tower of babel in Gen ch 11 but the scriptures teach otherwise in Gen ch 10. He says we are to keep the Passover of the Jews and uses 1 Cor ch 5 as proof text but he is overlooking the context of the ch. Paul is dealing with sin in the congregation and uses leaven, unleavened, & the Passover as metaphors. In the context sin is leaven, the church is unleavened and Jesus is our Passover so the feast keeping can not be the literal eating of foods of the Passover the Jews observe or the keeping of their holiday. Eating Food or observing a day as a memorial is not the subject of that context nor is that the intent the Holy Spirit in conveying thru Paul as he wrote to the church at Corinth it is about immorality that was reported.

also, I think, when the Scripture says: "the Kingdom of God is not food or drink" it doesn't mean that converted from paganism can eat unclean meats.. Pig is not food. So we shouldn't allow for any believers to transgress the Command of Lev.11, doesn't matter which culture are believers from for the issue of eating unclean as eating unclean is SIN. Also Acts.15 is just a beginning for new-converts from paganism so they would leave their false religions asap and then they would start to go to synagogues (Acts 15.21) to be educated in the Scriptures. Also Romans14 doesn't say that people can eat what they want or keep or not keep God's Holy days.. I think Romans14 talks about fast days, probably some disputes of that ancient days about keeping days of fast which are beyond the area of God's Commands. Not to keep Sabbath or not to keep Moedim from Lev.23 is SIN. I believe there is one Law for all God's people, one Torah for all and activity of keeping certain days for not-eating is up to someone's personal preferences.. but we can not apply the same principle to the Commands of God which define SIN.

Here is another gem about Romans 14.... verse 14 the translators used the word unclean when the actual word in the greek is koinos which is everywhere else translated as common. Biblical common means something that was clean has become defiled. So in effect Paul is saying if a person believes a biblical food (clean and acceptble before God ) is defiled to them it is defiled. They keep insisting on hiding the truth from the beleivers in Christ. The Law of God is Spiritual and we as new Spiritual Creations in Christ should hunger and thirst for the Spiritual Food which is Truth. Shame on the Translators hiding truth for a doctrine of men! I was enjoying what this man had to say until he went down the track of it is OK to not follow Truth. I certainly agree with Christ we are to be ONE NEW MAN not a Jewish believer in Christ or a gentile believer in Christ. If we are seeking to be in Christ we will walk the same but be different in the Ways God permits. For sure we can't be Torah Nazi's but we must by all means allow the scriptures Holiness and the Holy Spirit to convict the believer into greater love of God's Ways. Each of us is to mature into TRUTH because of being grafted into the root of Truth Yeshua. If we are producing bad fruit he will chop it off. This is not conducive to encouraging good fruit by stating our culture is of greater importantance. God's culture is LIFE and Breath for us. Peace.

Shalom, Thank you for speaking the truth about the church how divided they are. I believe in Yeshua and how His followers consists of Jews and Gentiles. How the gospel was preached to the Jews first and then to the Gentiles. The leaders of the Sanhedrin forbade the disciples of Yeshua to preach in the name of Yeshua which is the name above all names. In the name of Yeshua, the disciples healed the sick and performed miracles because Yeshua rose from the dead and is seated far above the heavens at the right hand of God. But in the present day, the preachers don't speak in the name of Yeshua but in their own name. There are so many false prophets today just how Yeshua predicted when He was in Jerusalem. The church today (Jews and Gentiles believers of Yeshua) must ask God to enable them to preach the Kingdom of God and the name of Yeshua with great boldness and courage. To come back to the early church, we must testify the death and resurrection of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah by laying our lives for others and glorifying the name of Yeshua. Shalom

Nothing written to believers during the Acts period and much written after Acts, but not all, is written to or about the church, which is his body of today. Our spiritual ancestors were the blood-thirsty pagans that went from worshiping Diana to faith in Christ, but only AFTER Paul's inspired declaration in Acts 28:28. Paul's letters during Acts concerned prophecy. The Greeks were the fulfillment of prophecy, both Deuteronomy 32:21 KJV, and Isaiah 60 which foretells of Gentiles in the kingdom serving Israel. Our gospel message - Ephesians 2:8 & 9 KJV - is a message according to the mystery first revealed to Paul AFTER Acts 28:28-31 KJV which had been HID IN GOD (Ephesians 3:9 KJV) since before the foundation of the world so it had nothing to do with prophecy! Prophecy and mystery don't mix. Pagans like we were would not have gained entrance into any of the churches in Acts because we would have been considered to be unclean dogs, even pigs! So why would you think doctrine given to people that would have spit on us and guarded the hem of their garment so it would not accidentally brush against us is given for us to obey? The Jews and Greeks in Paul's churches were under the Law (Jews) and ordinances (Greeks); are we? Apples and oranges, my friend! But very important distinction!

When you don't rightly divide the word of truth, you can make the Bible say just about whatever you want; and that is the case here. I understand, I really do; I used to be under the "Israel spell" too and I even wrote a novel about Israel's end time prophecy that got picked up by a publisher. But like E.W. Bullinger, I recant my former works because I have learned to rightly divide the scriptures correctly. We don't need to join with Israel, restore the kingdom prophecies to Israel, or view today's Jews as being the people of God. Israel forfeited her kingdom hope at Acts 28:28-31 KJV. What were the Acts of the Apostles anyway? Acts was the historical record of the efforts of the apostles and disciples of Jesus of Nazareth to convince Israel that he was indeed their Messiah and if they would only accept him as such, he would return in glory before the ones standing there died out to marry them and gift them the kingdom (Matthew 16:28 KJV; 1 Thessalonians 4:17 KJV). Those promises were pretty definite and specific and I think we take the fact way too lightly that Jesus broke those promises! This is serious. I don't think we've ever considered the idea that God had the right to and could easily have ended the world at the end of Acts! His dream of putting his throne on the earth to dwell with those that love him (which was his whole reason for creating this place!) was not coming to fruition and he would never force anyone to accept his offer. But instead, God changed his plans slightly (and of course he knew he would have to because he is omniscient) and changed the method of salvation from a corporate one that would have encompassed all Israel (Romans 11:26-27 KJV) to an individual one where instead of the entire nation (because that unknown number of converts that would have tipped the scale in Israel's favor was not reached) being saved, only individual believers that had had faith in God and/or his Son would be translated into the "kingdom of his dear Son," in Colossians 1:13 KJV. The coming kingdom on the earth restored to its original beauty will be made up of plenty of Israelites, Greeks, and former pagan Gentiles (us). Today, salvation is a free gift of God without any commandments or works required (Ephesians 2:8&9 KJV). It's a little known fact that God never wanted to give humans the Law in the first place; it was the Israelites that demanded it! God wanted to do everything for them - "Jehovah-Jireh" - but they were too proud of their own righteousness to let him...ever! (Romans 10:3 KJV). God has moved forward from his relationship with Israel, the ex-wife that said a final "No!" to his proposal of remarriage; and he has begun something new that has a place for every single person that has had a simple faith in him and/or in his Son.

I have been learning the Messianic Promises and their fulfillment in YEHOSHUA Ha Moshiach (Jesus Christ) from Jewish Orthodox rabbis. They are information RICH, something that points out the "beggarly elements" of many christian preaching, which is very limited. (I say this as fact not criticism). However WHAT IS SAD with Joseph Shulam (who I love listening to) and ALL evangelical sects is that they have to DEPEND ON THEIR HUMAN REASON to understand the information they possess. This is in direct violation of the LORD's Command in Romans 5:5-8, where The LORD tells us that it is IMPOSSIBLE to understand the spirit realm with human reasoning. This Truth is explained further in 1Corinthians 2:4-16 and confirmed in Scriptures such as John 16:13. GOD is Spirit - John 4:24 and we are to be led by His Spirit - Romans 8:14. To an evangelical or someone who is NOT a Temple of the HOLY Spirit where He lives in them - 1Corinthians 6:19, such a Truth is alien to them because they have not been BAPTIZED in The HOLY SPIRIT. They are not SAVED under Acts 2:38 and are NOT immersed in The HOLY Spirit to have His Mind - 1Corithians 2:16. The ONLY Evidence given in the Scriptures - supported by Paul and Peter in Acts 2, Acts 10:44-48 and Acts 19:1-6 is that the BAPTISM of the HOLY SPIRIT is ALWAYS manifested with the speaking in TONGUES. evangelicals claim to have the HOLY Spirit but do not obey The WORD in Acts 2:38, reading from verse 36-39. One of the FUNDAMENTAL teachings of the MESSIANIC fulfillment of the LAW is that ALL FOOD IS CLEAN. Each person creates their reality with what they believe and it is important that they don't do something against their beliefs, because that is doubt and against Faith. Read Romans 14, especially verse 23. I UNDERSTAND THAT TRUTH clearly as a fulfillment of The Law which is in accordance with The LAW! so Paul when he claimed not to have broken the Law was telling the Truth - not as Mr. Shulam claims in his human reasoning that Paul would not eat non-kosher food.

We are not the Greeks that were graffed into Israel's olive tree. They were blessed by the covenants of promise (because they gave Israel money); we are the pagans that were not eligible for salvation until Israel lost her kingdom in Acts 28:28-31. We are they (and really everyone in the world is ever since) that were "strangers from the covenants of promise", and "aliens from the commonwealth of Israel," Ephesians 2:11-13 KJV. "The faithful in Christ Jesus" of Ephesians 1:1 KJV.
