Chowking or Choking? American Teens try Chowking Filipino Restaurant at the SM Seaside Mall

Our time in Bohol had to come to an end. We loved it there! Our Glamping Alona ( / glampingalona ) place was the highlight. We loved it there and were sad to leave. We had a great driver to the ferry who told us fantastic fishing stories in the ocean. For example, he caught a 17-kilo marlin with a hand line, almost making their boat tip over.
When we arrived at the ferry, we got some yummy waffles at Waffle Story and Grace enjoyed dancing. We were amazed at how clear the water was right there at the dock.
When we arrived in Cebu, we packed all our things in a Grab and headed to the SM Seaside Mall. The teens had fun trying Chowking to see if it was good or not. We always joke that it is called Choking, so they wanted to see for themselves how it was. They also got some Halo Halo for our niece, Lily, to try. After lunch, we went to a movie. We had fun watching the new live-action Little Mermaid 2023. It was a lot of fun to go to a movie again!

The word "halo-halo basically has two meaning. 1. "Mix-mix" or "stir-stir". Mix or stir in circular and up and down motion with the spoon to blend all the ingredients and to partially liquefy the crash ice with the ingredients. 2. "Halo-halo" also means "variety" of sweet snacks such as jellies(gulaman), tapioca(sago), pinipig, leche flan, ice cream, evaporated milk, sweet beans, bananas, jack fruit, ube, sweet potato, corn bits, etc. and of course crash ice. So far Chowking "halo-halo" is the most favored version of halo-halo in the Philippines.

The SM Seaside City mall in South Road Properties (SRP) is just next to Cebu Ocean Park and a few metres away from Nustar Resort and Casino. The SM Seaside is the 3rd largest mall in the Philippines, and it's the 11th largest in the world.

Halo-halo means a mixture of different components, a variety of, an assortment not mix-mix, if you want to say, mix it well = haluin mong mabuti, yes the word "halo" means mix but when said twice in rapid succession it has a different meaning as i have mentioned, please do not be misled.☺

Try another Filipino fastfodo which Greenwich fastfood. They have pizzas, spaghetti, and check how their chickens taste compared to Jollibee's.. Greenwich is my other favorite fastfood, if you have too much fastood, there are also some local restaurants that serve authentic Filpino food, jst check it out..
