It's one thing to train and be good at a martial art, it's another to put your ass on the line for someone you don't know. That's where Daniel's strength really comes into play. It's not like he or even many people live a life of saving people from typhoons, but that one rare instance he rose to the occasion. I believe the story of part 2 should have happened after the story of part 3. The stakes were higher in part 2 and him going for that girl was a culmination of everything Miyagi was trying to instill in Daniel. That and sparing Chozen at the end.

I really loved this scene-they quickly went from bringing up the annoying things Daniel did way back in the past, to honoring the great deeds he did instead. That was definitely respect in many ways! It's hard to believe now these guys were once bullies to Daniel a long time ago. Johnny and Daniel still had their differences throughout the Cobra Kai series, but they worked it out. They also learned alot from each other. Chozen redeemed himself last season with Daniel, and he has come a long way! Having honor and respect, and now being a great sensei with his teachings and wanting to help. He was definitely my favorite character this season!
