Look at it this way, how do you feel, you as a person (not as a Christian here), playing this song in a/the church, in the holy or holies. Keep in mind, you have never heard Dovey’s song before, what would it do to you or for you or would you even play it in there? Try it this way (as if you never heard Dovey’s version and only Chozenn song), I mean literally, try it now. Exactly! you are going to say I can’t cause I have heard Dovey’s version; This is what it does for Christians (true Christians), who may have heard or seen Dovey’s version; it triggers this anti-biblical thought or feeling, lifestyle of aversion, that they have been once delivered from and trying forever stay away from. For some Christian, this song may even remind them of their past which they got saved from, for Christians who are not so strong where sex is concern (or new/baby Christians) may end up falling back to the wayside (backsliding). For some, a perfect example would putting down cocaine in front of a once cocaine user/addict, who is in the process of rehabilitation or even out of rehab. Nevertheless, at the end of the day, we have to look at it with this at helm, what was Chozenn trying to accomplish? What has he accomplish? I guess we will see overtime. On the other hand, should I say what was or is God trying to accomplish? I wouldn’t choose the latter in this case (at least not at this time). However, in an interview done recently, Chozenn said God spoke to. him about doing this song. Mmm!! Kinda looking hard to believe for many orthodox conventional traditionalist Christians. But listen, don’t let us be so overly zealous to judge this young man and put ourselves in the way, thinking God could never spoke to him about this song! Let’s remember, (for all bible reading Christians), when Jesus came (started his ministry)it was right in the heart of the most religious set of people in the world. It was instituted and orchestrated by God. And he was sent to the people/nation that was considered God’s “chosen” people. However, they couldn’t see Jesus due to their alter ego and motives within their traditions and religiosity. So their objective was to get rid of him, but it was hard to because of the good he was doing, the people has now cling to him, and his word was life to them. Saying all that to say this, don’t let us be too quick as Christians to throw this man over board. Christian means “Christ-like.” In this case, if your overthinking the scenario, just ask yourself, “What would Jesus do.” (WWJD). Nevertheless, the real question and concern is, at this time, is the song or has the song causing/caused more good than evil/bad (for people in general). It is no doubt hard to see the good it has cause or causing for many Christians because it’s an intermingling with what is secular. It is re-triggering some Christians to their former lives; while on the other hand it is causing a debate amongst believers and non-believers to have a conversation/a dialogue concerning Christ/God. Some people are hearing about Jesus for the first time through the song. Is it then wrong or right, good or bad, should be tabooed or not? One would say, let dark be dark and light be light. But on the other hand, can the darkness becomes light? And if it is can it become light on its own or it needs a conduit/mediator?Remember, light came out of darkness (except God), should we then say light is a product of darkness? Like Paul said, I forbid. So I don’t think one should say Chozenn’s version, which in this case considered as light, came out of Dovey’s version, in this case considered darkness (not saying your version is darkness Dovey, just for explanation sake)? In other words, don’t try to use Chozenn’s version to say God made a good thing from a bad thing (cause we do know God does that, that’s how he work; foolish things of the world to confound the wise). Because in this case we would be calling all secular songs bad, which is not the case. Many be quick to judge him but look at his intention first and if it was real time will tell, don’t shun him, encourage him, teach him, help him, Christians I am talk to you all! Lets also read Acts 5 in regards to Gamaliel.
