I have to assume I had the same issues... I was like transcripting their songs on my guitar and struggling to get the way the were actually doin it. Because in every situation the finger scales were so fucked up that it wasn't looking logic. But at least I got it, it is complicated but they use lots of huge finger gaps bitween each frets for a few plans as well as lots of spam of E chord and stuffs on the 12th fret and around. The way they pinch their strings is special as well, they more or less try to put as much power into the downstroke than the upstroke. Usually it goes down roughly (even fast in some thrash for exemple) and up in a less agressive way. That's where the power of the guitars is coming from I guess. Amazing stuffs coming from that band for many years and many others to come. Love them ! (of course I talk as a guitarist but of course the other guys are totally amazing !)

Hardest part of the song for me is that signature Adler beat at about 2:10. He has used it in several songs. I don't know what to call it or even what the time signature is, but it's the same riff he used for the opening bars of "Embers," and it appears in this song at two different speeds. For the longest time, I was only able to do it if I played it fast. For some reason it kicked my ass when I tried to play it slow, like he does in this song. Go figure. I finally got it though. Now if I can only get that damned intro lol...

The stamina it takes to play this song gives my right wrist PTSD flashbacks of master of puppets. The weird time signature makes some of the riffs a little funky feeling when you're learning them. The string skips are brutal, you really gotta try to mute strings perfectly as you play. The groove is a little difficult to fall into but once you're there this song is an absolute joy to play, nearly as wonderful as just listening to it.
@ded56302 жыл бұрын

As far as the difficulty the ride is fast for nonblasters. If you haven't warmed up u start cramping BEFORE the end double kick. There's a lot of parts and sitting on the floor tom sections. I'm amazing at dkick so I can do the cut to the bone section but that could be challenging to nail. The ending dkick is fast if ur taking it easy but slower than speeding thru it which means u have to get in your leg muscles to be accurate. The ride snare work is fun but probably not very hard.

first of all, there are not LOTS of people following this guy. He is just well known for his tribute to the band and the sexy licks he puts into songs. If you wanna say he doesnt do that, you probably know "Now you've got something to die for". I know a lot of drummers, but i dont think many would actually come up with those splash hits and that rythm... so if you dont think he is quite different in his play, then thats fine, but that is what everybody who likes his play thinks...
