Chris Andrews - Pretty Belinda (1969)

Christopher Frederick Andrews (born 15 October 1942) is an English-German singer-songwriter whose musical career started in the late 1950s.
Andrews was born in Romford, Essex, England, and by his mid teens had formed his own group, Chris Ravel and the Ravers. On 14 March 1959, he made his British television debut, performing on the Oh, Boy! show. He would later return in April to perform a cover of Cliff Richard's, "Move It".

It was my father's favourite song. He died in 1974. I was in st 9(Gr 11) in 1969. Beautiful music in those days.

I had this 45 record back when it came out in 1969. I'm not even sure where I got it, but someone gave it to me because the singer, and I have the same first, and last name. I was just 10 or 11 yrs old when it came out.

The British DJs had the audacity to play down this song when it was released in the UK. Well I have got news for those jerks - this song was a massive massive Global/European hit for Chris Andrew and other performers. Chris was always appreciated in Europe and I am so glad he settled in Germany and he now has German citizenship. He enjoys tremendous popularity across Europe.

Maybe it has something to do with the hippies movement & psychedelic rock hip in both US & UK in late 1960s. While this kind of song genre that Andrews performed was still very popular in mainland Europe until mid 1970s (see Peter Maffay, Rosy & Andres, George Baker Selection, etc)
