They went to that place. All 6 of them together. If you're a musician then you know exactly what place I'm talking about. You don't get there every time you play, but when you do, it's so euphoric.

Chris plays in the intro to Walt Grace Submarine Test, January 1967 if I'm not mistaken. My favorite song off Born and Raised!

I apologize, of course the drummer is important..nobody cares aboit him, but as soon as he's gone, everybody loses his mind and realizes: shit,we all should care about the drummer
@caspervanhelvoirt8 жыл бұрын
Rollysnop yeah ahaha. + in some cases the drummer really adds to the performance, which is the case here too. He's really listening to the build up of the song and plays together with the rest of the band. He's awesome!

I can't believe Blue Note is coming to Rio in next august and Chris come in October, the same month that John will be here. I hope they can do it again.

Wow, nice rendition by both Myer's and Botti. I kinda think Myer's controlled the ride and Botti was a little taken back at times but like his sound. Thanks for post!

In the wee small hours of the morning, While the whole wide world is fast asleep, You lie awake and think about the girl And never, ever think of counting sheep. When your lonely heart has learned its lesson, You'd be hers if only she would call, In the wee small hours of the morning, That's the time you miss her most of all. When your lonely heart has learned its lesson, You'd be hers if only she would call, In the wee small hours of the morning, That's the time you miss her most of all.

Can someone tell me wich scale is john using on the solo please
@charliecoyle10794 ай бұрын
Kinda hard to say exactly but he’s definitely combining C minor pentatonic and C major pentatonic. If you play along in C Dorian that will get you most of the way there, but he’s also playing the major 3rd occasionally and also the flat fifth (blues note) which are not technically in the Dorian scale and why I would say it’s major + (mostly) minor penta in C 🤷♂️

John is a great blues player ..but he needs to stick to that cause he's an amateur when it comes to jazz..but on a good note, decent version of this song
@leumasoyorra8 жыл бұрын
Really? ande why is he is doing an album with Chick Corea? Love the soul way that he speaks with the guitar... not like most of jazz guitar all day doing scales up and down with nothing to speak... only maths and boring...
@brandonw30858 жыл бұрын
if you think he is on the same caliber of chick you need to do some homework broski
@leumasoyorra8 жыл бұрын
They are different but don't change the theme.. coming soon a new album of chick corea and john mayer will come... I don't think that John Mayer it's amateur for that...
@caspervanhelvoirt8 жыл бұрын
Well, the John Mayer Trio album which features Chick Corea you're reffering to won't be the one that's coming up. His solo album will be, though. Chances are the Trio album won't even see the light of day... That was recorded early 2014. Furthermore: I really agree with you saying Mayer plays with soul and lets his guitar speak. I find him way more interesting than a lot of jazz player. Not to say I don't enjoy jazz players: Michael Landau and John Scofield are rated highly on my list
@stefdcilsd5978 жыл бұрын
jhon mayer is great , but can't play jazz also himself say that is butcher in jazz genre

Am I the only person who did not like this? Despite the undeniable technical virtuosity I found it dull, cloying, derivative, and generic.
