Met the man in the street in Bristol a couple months ago. He is the class incarnated. Super keen to exchange a few words, and the simple "I'm sorry but I didn't catch your name" took me by surprise and was the icing on the cake. A real humane interaction. Hopefully being interrupted in his morning walk by two frenchmen fanboys made his day and didn't put him late for his breakfast.

I was lucky enough to be at that show (I traveled from PA to get there) and had a prime spot right next to Chris by the stage. Chris and Cardinal Black absolutely killed it! As good as Chris is playing on KZbin and in demos, he (and the band) are amazing live. The show was fantastic! On top of that, Chris is an articulate, intelligent, and very humble human being. After the show, he, Tom, and other members of the band stayed to talk to fans and were very gracious, patient, and engaged. I was fortunate enough to talk to them all and get an autograph for my tour shirt. Thank you, Chris, and thank you Cardinal Black. I wish you all nothing but the best and hope the Cardinal Black fandom continues to grow. When you come back to the US, I'll be there.

I’m using the Prime Tone semi round 1.3 plectrums. My go to for the last 20 years was the Black powder Dunlop 1.14 and then I tried the expensive little gems and do not enjoy any other picks now. Chris is one of a kind, a virtuoso yet so humble and extremely polite. So well read and articulate and full of technical knowledge. I’m 54 going on 55 March 7th and I’ve learned, maybe a bit late due to being a stubborn guy, but I want to be around others that know more than I. I’d love to hang with this kid for some time to gather some knowledge and his technique that is some of the smoothest playing on the planet. John always, ALWAYS so excited to be there, and loves his job. I’m a huge fan of both of these guys and I thank them for this clip. Never stop doing what you love, and if it’s a job that you love, well then you’ll never work a day in your life.

8:57 I was just like that with the Tortex green .88. But then I read a magazine article on Jimmy Page that mentioned he used Herco picks. I had never even heard of Herco picks. I had to try them. That put me on a journey to try as many different guitar picks as I can. I still love the green Tortex, but I also love Herco Holy Grails, and a whole lot of others. I mostly stick to Jim Dunlop made picks. The nylons, the gator grips, delrin prime grip, Jim Dunlop Gels, Ultex. Jazz III shape, FLOW shape. On and on.

120 vs 240 is because the 240 runs the full primary on the power transformer and the 120 has parallel primary. The two halves are never really equal so in parallel. Plus 240 is more differential and 120 have a neutral which is usually grounded at the panel.
@CorNigrum6 ай бұрын
The music of Cardinal Black is a bit too far out of my heavy metal comfort zone, but this guy's playing is pretty pretty inspiring, highly dynamic and touch sensitive but still powerful. I think I'll turn down the gain tonight and try some of that hybrid picking myself. Also, great tip about recording yourself every night and taking your own mixing and mastering seriously and continuously improve your sound as you go. This was a good rig rundown.
