Their second song in "As long as you get what you want".....there are just no words.....his phrasing, note selection, pick dynamics, touch, and his emotions all came out together and impregnated the very essence of what it means to have a conversation and speak with an instrument....And I believe that when it was all said and done that baby came out and God forbid, if you could give it a name, I would say that Clark Kent would be 100% fitting because that was literally a Superman of a performance!! So hats off to you Chris, I only wish that I had found you earlier on in my guitar journey (just so I could steal some of those tasty licks and ingrain them forever but hey there's always the present!) You are a true pioneer sir, and you deserve to be in the ranks of the greats, and regardless, being a blues man myself...I hold you there in my own heart as one of the GOATS. So Cheers 🍻

So nice to see Chris Cain out there laying it down! My band opened for him at a Blues Festival in Oregon 2001. He was cooking then too.....still going strong. This is my 48th year playing harmonica and that was a Swing, Jazz & Blues band I had there for 10 years. Chris was up from the Bay Area as one of the headliners. Solid band here to....thanks for sharing this video!
Thank you Datflys for this marvelous Chris Cain video!

Sorry, one last comment to add in here because it has to be said....This band is the equivalent of SUPER GLUE. Not like the bs kind they sell in the store in little bottles...but like the OLD school super glue gun that heated up and melted effing STICKS of glue to shit LOL. Like yeah, that kind of TIGHT. My entire mind and world is blown after Steppin on A Highwire performance. Yeah, Chris did his thing sure...but when ol dude on the keys took his ride and they sunk in that groove, that was the equivalent of plugging in that old school glue gun in and letting it heat dafuq up to start that REAL super glue hahaha! But for real, no kidding, when they broke back down and let homie on the bass do his thing.....2 minutes into that I was throwing my hat off my head and walking in circles in my damn studio STRAIGHT MIND BLOWN. Sorry for the novel but Im just letting this flow out of me like the inspiration that flowed INTO me after just 4 songs in to this Hahahhaa. Okay. No more comments. I promise. Even though I still have 2 hours left to listen to this, I will do my very best to not post anymore (I wont do it haha) BUT thats only bcuz I think ive conveyed how I feel about these cats enough with these two NOVELs of a comment. PEACE AND LOVE. AND LONG LIVE THE BLUES!

@suzytyler47932 жыл бұрын
@Stanley Milton You can learn more about bassist Cody Wright and why he uses a pick in any number of live interviews on KZbin. Cody has had the honour of being on the cover of bass player magazine and is appreciated for his unique and innovative style.

@@suzytyler4793 So...I don't like the sound of it...too scrubby. Some might enjoy it...I don't. Some like steak, some like chicken.
@suzytyler47932 жыл бұрын
@@MrStanleyMilton I hear you. To each their own. Chris Cain likes it and I guess that's what matters here. Anything Cody might be lacking on the bottom thump he makes up for in pure genius with his fascinating solos, nimble fingers and phenomenal memory for songs. Chris says Cody knows more of Chris Cain's music from his 15 albums than even Chris remembers! As for me, i like steak and chicken. I'm good at a BBQ's. 😊

Oh no. The pick police are lurking in the damp depressed shadows. Creepy.
@MrStanleyMilton2 жыл бұрын
@@TimNelson Actually I've heard one band that I really like the bass played with a pick. They are called Future Islands. It really fits with their style...Just don't like it in a blues band. I like a rounder more resonant sound for blues-which the kid can and does well when he chooses to. Chris Cain has some real good young rhythm section there for sure...it's just a taste thing. Sgt. Stan signing off.
