@@Whocares158 I feel Bob's death was one of the major factors that sent Chris to the current situation. Bob was a profoundly flawed person (and possibly on the Spectrum), but I do believe he genuinely loved Chris and saw Chris as his chance to correct the mistakes he made with his other kids. Bob's death was the most tragic loss Chris ever experienced and Chris never properly came to terms with it (See the Sonichu comic in this episode, which is simultaneously tragic, delusional and touching). Bob was also the only adult in the house and his loss left Chris having to take responsibilities for the bills, food, and health of the household. Chris was in no way willing or able to take those responsibilities (this might be due to a lack of training by Chris's parents, Chris's laziness/stupidity/unwillingness to learn, or most likely, both). Bob was also the only non-troll who was slightly capable of reigning in Chris (e.g., scolding Chris for spending too much on toys) or at least getting Chris to conform (I think it is no coincidence that Chris's Tomgirl phase began when Bob's health began to fail).

@@Whocares158 The sad thing about Barb (who seems like a genuinely awful person) is that I think she was at Chris's mercy for years due to her own mental illnesses, health and age. Chris has always been narcissistic and this offered Chris a chance to have someone they could indoctrinate. I think Chris had began controlling and grooming Barb (intentionally (through abuse) or through incompetence) in the years following Bob's death. It would explain a lot of the changes in her behavior (an untreated hoarder suddenly being willing to sell their possessions, the sudden weight loss (likely due to Chris only feeding her meal replacement shakes), the seemingly willingness to agree with Chris politically (Chris keeps talking about how both of them would never vote Pmurt despite every instinct of my being telling me that Barb would be a MAGA supporter), etc.).

14:57 Even long ago with Megan, Chris did this type of stuff. He never learned that it is NOT okay to touch or kiss people without their consent. Here he's basically saying that if someone stands near him, it's their fault for him hugging/kissing them and if they didn't want him to hug/kiss them, all they had to do was to stay at arm's length distance away from him. Chris doesn't understand if someone wants a hug, that doesn't mean they also consent to a kiss. Even after this event, I'm sure Chris learned nothing. His tweets afterwards implies he believes it wasn't his own actions that got him in trouble, it was trolls that got him in trouble.
@triggeredcat1202 жыл бұрын
His parents obviously never told him no, they failed him miserably in terms of his autism, and his parents were so closed minded about everything.
@BlackDogsAndLadybugs2 жыл бұрын
He also admits that he thought it was okay, because if he was taking pictures with a celebrity he liked- he wouldn't mind a hug and a kiss- and they had the opportunity to move away, but chose to hug back. This falls into him not understanding social cues because of his autism. I also think Barb forcing physical touch and proximity on him while he was younger, with the assertion it was "good for him" could've affected the way he perceives physical affection. This is no excuse though, as Chris has shown he doesn't really see people as individuals- and only apologises to get the heat off himself. I honestly just wish his parents employed the gentle tactics that Linda used to help with his meltdown, and grandiose sense of self at a younger age. I think he could've been so much healthier and successful in life with a support system like that. And things could've ended much differently. :[

Since the "she's faking it" are based on older videos in which she was obviously faking having mental impairment / appearing more frail that she was in order to get more money. *However* , this doesn't exclude that she might have developed dementia after those videos were taken. *Personally* I am leaning on old woman turning hornaay (known elderly women who would break their p on a tree trunk because "whatever! I 've lived my life... let's party") or just not giving a darn about what is going on as long as she gets her way (very Barb-like) and *not dementia*. There is an old joke in psychiatry: a doc was talking with a patient in their room, and the patient said “shh, an FBI agent is hiding in the closet.” The doc asked “do they have any way out, besides using the door? Can they teleport or anything?” To which the patient scoffed “No, of course not. They are FBI, not magic.” The doc then yanks open the closet door, showing the closet is empty. The patient is silent for a moment, then “Doc, I can’t thank you enough, you really showed me the light! They CAN teleport.” Unfortunately, there just isn’t much that can be done for delusions, which by definition, people believe despite all evidence to the contrary. For the most part, you can’t talk people out of them, and actually to some degree, trying to actually makes the delusions worse…it is been tried so, so many times. Once a family wanted us (the staff) to X-ray a patients tooth to show there was no implant in it. The doc politely declined, saying that the X-ray might re-enforce the delusion, as it would be interpreted as “it is reasonable that someone secretly put a device in my tooth, and so they are checking”. Plus it never works,and would just be “it must be all plastic, they removed it before the X-ray, the X-ray staff is one of “them,” or a dozen other reasons it proves nothing).

@@kett912 Except, as any one who has been to a large US city has seen….being very severely mentally Iill and homeless doesn’t often equate to long term institutionalization, and psych hospitals as seen in movies haven’t existed since Reagan closed most. The few psych hospitals that remain measure stays in days, not weeks or months, and the few long term facilities are for the truly debilitated without other options (advanced Alzheimer’s patients, etc). Neither insurance or government wants to pay, as it is very expensive - even just for safety…you don’t need a lot of staff to keep the obstetrics, surgical, etc. patients from hurting themselves or others, but you do for psychiatry patients. The unit I was on was the only one in a huge area, and was the only money-losing unit, kept open by the hospital as a community service. Also, unlike in movies and TV shows, it is unbelievably hard to involuntarily hospitalize someone - varies but state, but in general here are things that aren’t even close to meeting the legal requirements - it isn’t enough that a person “might” do “something” (too vague), or that they have odd beliefs or a clear mental illness, or that they make terrible decisions or that they refuse treatment. That is good in many ways (should be huge legal barriers to take someone’s freedom), but there is a trade-off.
