Chris’s delusions are definitely getting worse and worse as the months go on. This used to be funny but now I feel a deep disgust and sadness about it. But I think a new chapter will begin once Barb dies and Chris quickly loses the house because he has no ability to live alone or manage money. The state of Virginia is gonna step in and a residential facility will be his only option at which point all the bullshit about dimensional merges and transitioning because of dreams and MLP nonsense is over with. I worked in a facility and part of the treatment/living plan is keeping residents grounded in reality, through verbal or pharmacological reinforcement. Chris has no idea what’s going to happen once his mom dies.

I think that the courts will appoint cole as conservator and legal guardian (against his will) since he is a living relative who is capable of caring for chris and he'll simply sign chris over to the state as a final fuck you I hate you to him. Where he goes from there is anyone's guess but I think he'll probably end up in a residential adult care facility for mentally disabled adults and that'll pretty much be the end of the story because he'll be under state controlled lock and key will have no financial freedom/freedom of movement and won't have access to the internet or telephones beyond a strictly controlled list of approved contacts (most likely only his social worker and maybe a psychiatrist or two).

In the one where I worked there were people who could do most things save medication independently and they had the ability to use WiFi but that was a private facility. Hey I actually work for IHSS (in his city, actually... Sockness isn't his real name, right? That means it's a sockpuppet account or whatever?). It's In-Home Supportive Services which is the state service in California for home care of the elderly and/or disabled. You can qualify for it through any kind of disability substantial enough to impair your caring for yourself fully. It's paid by the hour and there are a finite list of activities the person can have you do for them (and it's further limited by the state's evaluation of what they need). It's typically people on gov't disability. It's staffed by independent contractors who just have to go through a training (we're only technically state employees). If anyone has further Q's bc of Sockness I'm happy to answer.
