It was a great episode. You guys are old-school and you both tell it like it is.Something I really like about Michaels channel is the warmth that comes through. Unlike a lot of hosts who just ask a list of set questions and don't know how to make their guests relax, Michael and his guests just seem so natural and talk like old friends.👊 And you both have fathers who were absolute legends and the REAL guys that The Godfather, Casino and Little Caesar are about.People my age always love Goodfellas, Casino,Godfather but have hardly ever seen Cagney or Edward G.Robinson!! Love the show.Peace

What a great sit down. Mike you’re absolutely right. You became a mentor for me at 36 years old. I survived a meth and fentanyl addiction and am now a recovery group facilitator that helps people get clean and sober. I now have another mentor and that’s Mr. Colombo here. Thank you so much for this guys. I was going through a bit of a rough patch the past few days and this has helped me immensely. Thanks so much guys

Speaking of which, the faimilies in Chicago and the Appalachian people had a relationship during prohibition.. We made most of the liquor for Capone during the 1920s. I have heard of people’s grandparents getting busted for moonshine and they would go to prison and meet up with a Chicago guy and so the Chicago people would buy the guy some land and corn and all he needed to make the good ol Mountain Dew…So to speak.

My generation…our parents were disgusted by addicts, total stigma, not saying right or wrong, saying it was treated as a negative moral judgement. Fast forward, this generation coming up, they BRAG, yes BRAG, about their anti anxiety meds. They sit online all day and don’t know how to get up, get dressed (none of this athleisure yoga pants sh**), carry yourself with self respect, get out, and talk to people. I had breakfast with my grandparents and Dad every Sat, didn’t matter that I lived in hotels in Beverly Hills, every Fri, I’d take the red eye to Fl, get off the plane, straight to Grandma for our “Sat sit down”. Best storytelling and memories of my life. I learned a lot.

I love what Chris said about taking the crime out of organized crime and the morals will set the country straight. I wish someone would write a book about using mob practices to teach life lessons. Things like how to dress or act in social situations. It could be very helpful for men who were raised without fathers and could benefit from that guidance that your father instilled in you. Kind of a " mafia guide to being a man".

Michael is by far the king of this genre. it's not even close. I have listened to his content since the early VLAD videos before his own channel. He just brings you in. Its no shock he was so successful within the Colombo Family. Fast riser to Capo and one of the best earners in the mob of all time. He is a fantastic speaker. I thought it was funny, every once in awhile you will catch something that reminds you he was made man and Capo in the life. "They didn't learn anything when they was young" Always a good listen.

Thank you for the great video Michael. I appreciate your content a lot. You got a lot of very nice conversation. Especially how you avoid politics, you avoid any agendas most of the time. You speak on experience. 26:58 was meaningful. People are people, they are each a soul, a unique life, they are not their government, or their flag, or their religion, they are people first always. Having known folks who did associated things, drug "abuse" was a massive no-go especially for people who worked directly with that stuff in most any capacity. People who have addictions have deeper demons and its distracting in a dangerous job and a liability in that business. A Question: The United States is one of the largest consumers of narcotics worldwide. Coming from your family and your experiences, would you ever be willing to talk about the Cartels out of MX/the Americas? It would be really interesting if you were able to sit down with someone who has experience on that side and can speak on it.

Those “little nuggets” helped me out when dealing with criminals on the street and working behind bars. My mom made sure we knew that long before we were in kindergarten. I’ll still say “excuse me ma’am or sir” to a cashier or a homeless person on the street. Everyone deserves respect, I believe in God did Jesus ever treat someone like trash ? NO. Dad could beat me but I didn’t want to disappoint mom was more afraid of upsetting her than a beating from dad. His beatings would’ve been illegal in the 70’s if the law knew about it.
