They are finding that many of those deaths were not from covid. The doctors/medical examiners were encouraged to put covid as cause, even on car accident deaths. The new numbers on California was .03% chance of death by covid. Until we have real numbers it's an irrelevant number. AND how many Democrat governors caused untold deaths by putting elderly back in rest homes? Noone knew about covid or what to do. That is an invalid argument, Fauchi and Berks made the policies. Partisan Healthcare doesn't work. 🙄

8 years ago my oldest grandson call me all kinds of filthy names because I do not support Trump. I confronted my daughter about it and she said, well Mom you're the adult in the room. I don't believe a young man should be able to insult his grandmother in that way, so I quit talking to all of them. Then last September the next to the oldest grandson died of an overdose of fentanyl in Tucson Arizona. We didn't find out he died for 8 months. They had to ID him through his tattoos. I am finally talking to my daughter because I'm the one that has to step up and get my grandson cremated. I have finally started talking to my daughter again and I hate the fact that someone like Trump could get in the middle between us. But, a mother loves her child unconditionally. And my other grandson has learned to respect me after me standing up to cremate my other grandson. It took a death in the family to reunite us together. I will never like Trump because I collected on his bankruptcy in 91 and 92 before the banks had their own card centers. I was licensed and bonded to collect all over the world because each state has different laws and each country has different laws. Deregulation and trickle-down economics ended my job in 1996. The banks opened their card center in Phoenix, starting with American Express. I hope after January 6th, my oldest grandson has seen the light. Too bad it took a death to bring us back together 😢

In regard to Trump's prosecution, while the point that bringing felony charges against him in New York was a matter of prosecutorial discretion, there is also a point to be made in comparing Trump's situation to that of Al Capone. In Capone's case, I'm sure the FBI would rather have prosecuted him for all the other more heinous crimes that they KNEW he had committed but, because of how widespread the corruption was, they could never gather enough evidence of those other crimes so they settled for tax evasion. In Trump's case, everyone in New York knows how crooked he is but he has managed to skirt the law and pay people off well enough to avoid prosecution. Alvin Bragg knew this and brought the charges that he knew he could support. In other words, that trial was about much more than the stated charges. I see it more as a way of convicting Trump for all of the other crimes for which he has been able to avoid prosecution.

What is at stake is my granddaughters deserve to have the same rights I had in making my own reproductive healthcare decisions. When I had an incomplete miscarriage, no government official, political party or law prevented me from making my own decisions, that day in my doctor’s office. My doctor didn’t have to check with the hospital attorney. My doctor told me to meet at the hospital in one hour and she would do a D&C, which is a medical procedure commonly known as an ABORTION. I didn’t have to wait until I was ill enough to get one. I didn’t have to wait and risk my life or health or reproductive system. I didn’t have to travel to another state to receive HEALTHCARE. What’s at stake is the Republican Party seems very intent on establishing one party rule which is what authoritarian regimes want and have. And all the people who believe they’ll be better off under a dictatorship are going to wake up to a very different reality.

I've read some of the comments below, and there's a lot of people angry because of what Chris says about Trump, Im not sure he's defending as much as explaining the other side, trying bridge the gap because some things are about perspective. I don't like Trump either, his character is beyond low but people hate the Government or the other side so much they can't see or don't care and want to punish, and they think Trump is the tool and the more the reaction the more they're justified in how and what they believe. We need to try and find our similarities and focus on those things. We need to understand as much as we can so that Trump doesn't have as much influence as he does and de escalate the emotional response so people will be more rational.

Sure hormone therapy can get you somewhat close to the gender one wants to be but the gender one is at birth has had hormones shaping the muscles and sculpting the body to their birth gender which gives them certain advantages. That's just facts. But if a male chops of his genitals and feels like a women I'm not going to cry over him peeing in the same bathroom as in this day and age I don't see doorless stalls.

And the plot thickens. In the case of Olympic boxer, we are not talking about a trans. This person was raised as a female , born with female organ (not sure if reproductive organs of a female exist. We would need medical records if they exist, but regardless…), however there are xy chromosomes. Which means, she was born a biological male with female genitalia. In this case, we are not talking about a trans person. In my humble opinion, there should be a test done after birth (times we live in) to be sure correct gender is confirmed and it could be addressed to minimize further issues in life. People with abnormalities did not ask for them, and we as a society need to modify our procedures and laws, allowing for morality and integrity for all.

Let’s see if you’ll do some tough ones because that’s what we need. 1) What’s your take on pushing for ranked choice voting nationwide so that we can make 3rd party candidates viable in the future not only for presidential elections but for all elections? I feel this must be discussed and pushed for considering how such a large population of newly registered voters are registering as independent. The root of these policies is often not discussed in depth but I feel they are very important as America clearly needs to do something about the lack of manufacturing here. 3) What’s your take on the fact that America is really the only 1st world country remaining that does not have some form of truly universal healthcare? Are you for or against Universal Healthcare and if you are for it how do you think it should be implemented?

Chris, I’m watching one of the last interviews with Jane McAlevey. I find appropriate on Labor Day. Jane briefly mentions on your Dad, Mario. Jane, was organizing the divestment campaign ( The State University of New York at Buffalo) as a 19 yr old student. Her father was also a politician and understood the political process. He mentored Jane in tactics and organization. A powerful Woman, Jane died last month, 59 yrs old. The interview was conducted April 2024 on Democracy Now.
