#1, he's making claims that are demonstrably false. For example that 1*1 = 2 or whatever the fuck. We know this is false because we know how multiplication works. 1*1 = 1 (terrence tries to justify his claim on a false assumption, that multiplication means to "add or make more", this is a COMPLETELY separate definition to the mathematical definition of "multiply" Math definition of multiply: "obtain from (a number) another that contains the first number a specified number of times." definition of multiply you guys like to use "(of an animal or other organism) increase in number by reproducing." basically you guys are using the biblical definition of multiply to talk about the math definition of multiply) addition might be more your guys' speed, but think of multiplication, so for example 1*1, as one, one times. 1*2, one, two times, etc. #2 he is chaining together completely unrelated topics and finding patterns in them. This is a very common symptom of schizophrenia/bipolar disorder, it's called "apophenia" now everyone is susceptible to some type of apophenia (Gambler's fallacy is a form of it, as is confirmation bias) but Terrence is at the level of psychotic homeless man outside of walmart rather than guy who really wants to confirm his own bias level. For example the shit he talks about in regard to "dividing by 2," you should be asking yourself "where did he get the number 2? what's the reasoning here? why not 3? why not 100?" Or the shit about the periodic table and certain things being in "the key of E" where did he get the key of E from? Why not D? Why not C? But most importantly, let's say that is true and that if you take the periodic table and divide some.. element's... light.. by 2.. whatever that means or however that's done (it doesn't mean anything) and it ends up in the key of E (That would be E F# G# A B C# D#, and what octave are we talking about here? I get the sense that Terrence is under the impression that each note name has only one hertz number associated with it, that is not true at all. Middle E4 is 329.628 Hz, while E3 is 164.81. Oh and you and Terrence know that these note names being assigned to specific hertz numbers.. are man-made and decided by us right? Typically we use A = 440 Hz, but you can also use an alternate tuning with A = 432 Hz, so which one does carbon match up to, guys? Tuning has also changed throughout history, different cultures have their own musical scales etc etc. These musical things are NOT inherent values set by nature, WE decide them.) I could say to you "If you take 10 (the number of fingers on our hands) and times it by 12 (the number of apostles) then add 3 (for the three wise men) it comes out to 123, first of all that's a special number, 123, for obvious reasons. But what happened in the year 123? Emperor Hadrian averted a war with Parthia by a personal meeting with Osroes I AND Chinese scientist Zhang Heng corrects the calendar to bring it into line with the four seasons, proving that PEACE and ALIGNMENT are innate parts of human nature and dictated by the lord Jesus Christ as well, but modern historians and mathematicians will deny what I'm telling you right now." and your response to that absolutely SHOULD NOT be "wow that is some really profound shit! and it's so true, it MUST be a sign!" your response should be "what the fuck do any of those things have to do with each other? Why are we multiplying the number of fingers on our hands by the 12 apostles and not literally ANYTHING else? Why are we doing 10 * 12 instead of 10 / 12 or 10 + 12? Why are we adding 3 instead of taking 3 or dividing by 3 or multiplying by 3? Also, where does the bible say there were three wise men? (it doesn't, it never specifies the number of the wise men at all)" And the answer to all of these questions is that I pulled all of these things completely out of my ass, just like Terrence Howard routinely does. The human brain is a pattern recognition machine, if you look hard enough ANYWHERE at ANYTHING you WILL spot some kind of pattern eventually. The issue with Terrence Howard types is that he's not actually seeing these patterns, because they aren't there, he is having intense delusions that he's seeing these patterns. And what happened here is that you saw the ravings of a VERY mentally ill man and actually believed the shit because you were too lazy to think, for two or more seconds, about what he was actually saying and WHY it may or may not make sense.

Check this out, Mayim Balik from the Big Bang theory is an actual neuroscientist graduated with a PhD from UCLA, Natalie Portman graduated with a degree in psychology from Harvard, Brian May, you know from Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody? Musical genius, renowned guitarist and yep you guessed it astrophysicist and one more for good measure and one most people probably already know Ken Jeong from The Hangover, got his MD from the University of Carolina, Chapel Hill so I'm not sure how Terrence being an actor automatically mean we should write him off, open your mind, question yes but also be open to new possibilities, it doesn't hurt us to postulate these ideas even if he is wrong because imagine how beautiful it might be if he is correct, he was talking about new possibilities for space travel and his ideas might spark the genius in someone out there to solve inter stella travel or even a way to maintain life here, the possibilities are endless but not if just we shut him down with the age old disgusting crazy attack.

I mean sure it makes some people feel like that validates someone's findings but if he is right then he is right, however I think everyone is missing the point, he is sparking discussion and his ideas are thought provoking it's just a pity that a great portion of people are so closed minded they can't even have the discussion they just need to tear those down that have the courage to go against the grain. What Terrence Howard said to me kind of sounded vaguely legitimate if you listen to the whole thing. I think a lot of people felt that way. Everyone that covers this just talks about how crazy and stupid he is but no one ever actually tries to specifically addressed the things he said. So this whole thing is going to radicalize people. A couple more if you are unsure : You can not turn color into sound (try it) - they are different things and it's nonsense to confuse the 2. Also, you can't half light, that doesn't mean anything, it's nonsense. In case you are watching some of this madman's other content (from the Oxford union address for example), 1x0 does in fact =0. Well, do you understand what he's saying?
@imaferretmaster3 ай бұрын
@@paulwall2891 well lets start his most basic flaw, 1x1=2, it doesnt, because thats not how multiplication works, thats how addition works. 1+1=2, because you have one unit added to another unit to get two units. When you multiply your counting groups of units, so if i have one group of one unit, i have one unit. Considering thats a big point of "terryology", it really puts a wrench in the gears immediatley. He also claimed that carbon has the same "tone" as hydrogen, it doesnt, and "tone" does not mean musical note as he implied lmfao, he also referred to it as a "bisexual tone", which....hes wrong anyway, but the ONLY possible thing i can guess he meant to say is a "bisectional tone", which is wrong regardless lol. Its just hard to take someone seriously when they outright claim to be the smartest human being on earth (he actuallly said that in the podcast) but then they dont know what proper terminology is and use it incorrectly on top of that.
