Chris de Burgh - The Risen Lord/The Last Time I Cried Live in Dublin 1988

Chris de Burgh, ein Vollblut-Musiker, oft belächelt... mit einer sehr schönen klaren Stimme... Vielen Dank, für diesen wunderbaren Clip. Welch genialer Song "The last time i cried"... wann werden wir aufgestanden sein?

"often ridiculed", exactly, by those lazy comedians & others who have never seen him in concert & judge him purely on The Lady In Red. They obviously never saw him, with his Canadian band, live. Think Munich '84.

On my way home from writing the last subject of my senior high school final exams, this song played for the first time on SA national radio (Radio Five) It was 22 October 1988, my 18th birthday. A musical masterpiece with lyrics that, subconsciously, left the following few significant hair raising minutes of pure brilliance in song, imprinted in my brain for life. I saw the sound, I heard in colours, I felt the calling and I knew, the road ahead was going to be very very different to what was expected of me, and what, up to that moment, I thought it would be. This song not only had a profound impact on me, it would play loud in my head at every crossroad throughout one incredulous life journey thus far... and it still does, without fail.

I remember lying on top of a British Army truck as a young 18 year old out in the desert of Saudi Arabia listening to this song on my treasured Sony Walkman deep in thought watching our Jets fly over head, switching their lights off heading for Kuwait to reign terror onto the Iraq"s forces within a few minutes watching the horizon light up with tracer fire and the spine tingling thump of heavy ordnance being dropped and me thinking soon it will be our turn to advance to war. still makes my hair stand up and takes me back as if it was yesterday.

The further that we walked Well the heavier it became And i believe i've felt the weight From another world... The Burden of sins of mankind is going heavier every moment! Matthew 11 ; 28- "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29- Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30- For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Chris I have never in my life to my knowledge commented on anyones post. You moved me and I am here to tell you as sure as the sun comes up every single day, the Lord will never leave nor forsake. To believe otherwise is to not believe Jesus. His words are truth. Remember the enemy comes only to kill and destroy. I pray you remember that. Psalm 119:17 says that it is good that we are afflicted so that we may learn His ways. These afflictions are momentary things to cause us to persevere and drive us to Him, not away. I am in no way diminishing your pain or despair but focus on the cross. Consider Him who suffered and died in our place for crimes that were not His. He is Worthy of all blessing and honor and glory for now anf forever more. Please press on and dont give up. At a minimum please listen to Andrew Peterson as I believe his music will minister in ways you cannot imagine. May the Lord shed HIs light on you. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mafcpZitft2fopI
