My friends and I were in the audience for this fight. I’ll never forget that night. My god what a battle it was. Unlike most of my friends I favoured Eubank, but had admiration and respect for both fighters. Benn entering to the sound of Big Benn was iconic.

@Lamster662 жыл бұрын
They both were. Benn was more like you would expect a fighter to be basically he went in hard an got stuck in. Benn was always worth watching. However Eubank, make no mistake was every bit a hardman as Benn! But he played on his speed and power to showboat and humiliate his opponents before knocking them out. There's an old saying "Nobody likes a showoff!" Most people hated Eubank which made it all the better as far as he was concerned when he won.

@andisadler28974 жыл бұрын
@@MrSandalwood The Americans dont rate boxing so high like we British do. They couldnt fill stadiums etc like we do. Boxing is within our top 5 sports here, in America they prefer Ice Hockey and Basketball ffs. When Tyson Fury fought Wilder people in New York hadnt even heard of Wilder! and he was the American champion lol. So something is badly wrong. Thats why all the american fighters love to fight in the UK, the passion and atmosphere is very high here, 1000s go to the press conferences and the weigh ins even. Mike Tyson said himself that he loves England, the passion is mental, bombarded with fans everywere he went, people blocking the roads and jumping on cars just to see Tyson or get an autograph. We British love boxing and the art of boxing, we are born and bred with fighting within our blood, our ancestors fought everyone to make our country great and well respected throughout the world. We love to fight and we love boxing. ~The Americans however dont!. Roll on February 22nd and let Tyson Fury beat that paper chump, i mean champ whom relies on his right hand too much and cannot box for shite. Then the British will own the heavyweight division and will do for years to come as we have Daniel Dubois who is destined to be a champion most definatly.

@@mainemurder9238 listen pal, you cxan be in denial; all you want. Do you seriously think anyone and i mean anyone in Lonbdon wouldnt know who Fury was or Joshua? even Dillian Whyte. They would all know. I remember back when Naz fought Kevin Kelley, everyone knew Naz, noone knew Kevin Kelley and that was in USA. Here in the uk we outsell 90000 stadiums to watch fights. You lot would rather kick a football shaped like a rugby ball around. Boxing is in our top 3 sports, in the usa its in the top 33. No comparison at all. Why do all American fighters like to come to UK? becuase the media coverage in unseen anywere else with press conferences, tours of citys promoting the fights.

De Profundis I loved both of these fighters. Superb exponents of boxing in their day. However, in the end, I am pleased to say that the true boxer won. This era was one of the greatest non-heavyweight eras in British, if not non-heavyweight world eras. However, the current heavyweight era is probably the greatest era in U.K. boxing, considering the number of world class boxers we have at this weight. Not to mention Tyson Fury who is a phenomenal boxer, and without doubt, the greatest of this era.

This was a great fight with very poor referee. He let benn hit eubanks in the back of the head 100x and nothing. Eubanks hit him once and got a warning. Hopefully Benn didn't receive any credit from the judges for the constant rabbit punches w/ which he tagged the back portion of Eubank's skull for the entire fight. @Lamster662 жыл бұрын
Yes he did go to war except it wasn't his fight because he was out boxed by Eubank. It's kind of what the sport is all about. That's what Eubank did his whole career avoid getting hit and land his own punches for points. Doesn't matter how hard they are as long as they hit the target From an entertainment point of View Benn was far more explosive and exciting to watch but from a winning fights prospective ( and earning the money) Eubank was more effective. Go and watch the Watson fight It looked like Eubank hardly touched him. But we all know what happened to Watson so clearly Eubank touched him.
