@ValentijnEnJack3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I was looking for a comment mentioning how fucked this is. Edit: I thought they were talking about both the predators and Chris Hansen. I try to in a later comment, but let me explain: Chris Hansen, much like Dr Phil, doesn't seem to *actually* want to help people, but rather looks for sensation at the expense of others. It takes a special kind of narcissism to do what they do. Dr. Phil's response to sending kids to the ranch and not checking up on them, resulting in them getting traumatised by what happens there, was basically: "It's not my business what happens on the ranch." (If anyone has an update on this situation, or if I have the wrong idea, let me know. Because to me it seemed like he was only trying to make sure that he can't be held accountable for not doing proper research, and not ACTUALLY helping anyone.) In a similar vein: Do the people that are open for help/therapy on Chris' show actually get help (if it's even real), or do they get put behind bars? Knowing America's jail system, it's likely they become bigger offenders. (And if they're well off, do they get bailed out and just get away with everything.) Question being: Do they help people because they want to actually help people, or are they "businessmen" who don't care what happens to the people that went on their show unless they can make a profit off of it? (Not to mention, 9/10 of the "p€do hunters you see today are p€dos themselves.) Just look into it and judge for yourselves. I just think there's more constructive ways of dealing with people who are clearly dealing with pretty serious mental illnesses. Much like people who can barely pay rent and resort to selling drugs or theft. It's definitely scummy, and I know there's narcissists out there who can't be helped because they won't accept help or don't want to change their ways, so maybe I'm too naive (doing bad thing still equals bad thing), but people usually do stuff for a reason, and if you want to decrease criminality, you need to start helping people get their shit together.

@FinnaRoastYoAss3 жыл бұрын
@@chubbybunny6975 Unfortunately, you're incorrect about pedophiles. Most of them, if not all of them, are more than aware of what they are doing and know it is wrong. Another thing, most, if not all pedophiles, were themselves sexually abused and victims of a pedophile when they were younger. The issue in today's world is that people who are victims of this kind of thing do not receive the help they need, then if and when they go on to become a predator themselves, do not receive proper/enough rehabilitation. The answer is never just locking people away. They have to receive help and rehabilitation or else they go back to who they were before being put away. In my opinion, more people need to be educated on the issue of predators; they're not sociopaths, most of them are psychopathic in some way and have severe traumatic issues stemming from their own childhood.

What makes this even more scary to me is that my 12 year old daughter is often mistaken for 19. It is difficult for her to understand she doesn't look her age and thankfully she doesn't want or like talking to strangers. Anytime she gets uncomfortable in public she wraps herself in my arm and clings to my side like a 3 year old but is very smart and mature for her age, just innocent and shy.
