I don’t think he meant it, I just think he wasn’t educated enough about black history. Anyone with a common sense of mind that knew about African-American history would never say that an antebellum party is OK first of all , and second of all would never say that somewhat racism was OK in 2018 but not 2021. I believe he says this because Black Lives Matter movement recently started and maybe it opened white ppls eyes but he fails to realize that blacks have been dealing with , and caring about racism obviously all their lives. He’s speaking clearly only from his own white perspective because racism has never been OK and has been very well alive since slavery ended. But many white people don’t know this since they have not had to live it and have not been educated in African American history.

@@SgtSalad13 you should really think this through more. Going to a party that celebrates the old south is not ok because that period represents a time where this country wrongly oppressed an entire race of people. I believe initially when he talked with RL he was only trying to prevent a personal attack on RK and he went about it the wrong way by defending her instead of trying to understand why RK's actions were so hurtful to BIPOC. He said what he said at time and moment because that’s how he truly felt as a WHITE MAN . He was being wildly sarcastic and rude by saying was it a issue 2018 or is it a issue now in 2021, he clearly knew that was a issue for many years after slavery was abolished. His so called apology was above insensitive, thought he said what was right from his point of view, you can’t just talk fast with any response and think people won’t pause play and exam each statement and emotion. That’s good for him, 25 seasons, he had a good run , just didn’t end his quarter on a good note .

If you hold things over people from the past you are not giving them room to show change. I’m sure all of these nay sayers have received grace in their lives before from dumb/insensitive things they have done and said, and if we really want to move on as a society and live in the change everyone wants, grace will be required from both ends ♥️ please be kind. Please think of it being you and see how you would like grace if it were you. Also @GMA can you please have non contentious and bias news anchors? That would be great. Contentious news anchors are the reason people are swayed so much to only one side. You’re basically feeding the notion that grace cannot exist and believe it is possible.

So if you actually watch the whole interview, you would know Chris wasn't defending the racism undertone of the girl's pics. He wanted to give her time to explain herself while not being lambasted with so much hate from online. Remember, these people grew up in the South, where they would hide the atrocities of slavery in their textbook to the youth and erect statues of Confederate figures and soldiers as "heroes". Unlearning takes time. Even Chris who is from Texas briefly mention he had to learn to be better about this. Are we gonna bring the man down for being charitable on to someone's possible mistake? Are going to say fuck you because he uses the term "woke police"? You damn well know nowadays people are pressing hard to be politically correct or trying to be offended for other minorities when there was no need. Although the act is noble, some form an angry mob and even grift off this shit. Chris did use the "right words" but his intentions were far from racism I honestly don't see the point in this specific issue. We can't erase that past, negatively or positively. Acknowledge it and do better. So when it comes to the South, stop celebrating bullshit and start realizing that the land you build up and walk is filled with the blood others forcibly taken from their homes from across the ocean. To the fucking Woke Police, please allow for the leniency to learn, don't make others delete their mistake but acknowledge them and grow... P.S. if they are a dick does not want learn.... well fuck dem

To me, the loss of his position shouldn't be considered some sort of tragic thing (I mean, he's not going to suffer monetarily or anything, he's got plenty of money to see him through 😂) but instead, a good time for him to do some introspection and work on himself.
