Both speakers were absolutely brilliant. It's a shame that the lady speaker is not named in the title of this video, for she is certainly worthy of speaking about these matters right next to Chris Hedges. I have never heard a speech so intense as the one Hedges gave. It felt like no one dare breath so as to not miss a syllable of what he had to say. Superb!

Chris Hedges speech brought me to quiet tears for no one could not sense the truth in his words.. All labeling of those who speak against Israel as antisemitic is pointless and gaging legislation from various governments won't work because what is happening in Israel is happening and it is wrong. In essence the greatest changes have come from people saying over and over and in unison 'this is wrong and it must change.'

This is the best history I have heard anywhere about this situation in the Middle East. The Middle East has been the main crossroads of human history. Sadly History keeps repeating itself in the Middle East. The Palestine struggle now reflects the latest (since 1948) struggle of survival in that region of the world. History has never shown equal treatment of everyone in the Middle East. The region has been totally cleansed of at least one race - The Philistines who no longer exist. It is sad that in a modern world that anyone would even attempt to repeat that sad History. Yet here it is, for all to hear. Power corrupts and makes all countries play God when they have that power to exercise. Even the United Nations when given power uses it to victimize others. The whole issue to me why do we have to use power to take sides as humans always have. The terrorists are on both sides. Humans are always taking sides like children who never grow up. Here we go again. I expect because of this view, I will hear from all these people who refuse to grow up. For everyone who does -all of you need to grow up. Until you do, there will never ever be true Peace.

Both guest speakers greatly spoke. The first one to speak appears to be professor C. Heike Schotten. I couldn't make out more than the Heike part, for the student introducer, who also spoke very well, sounded like she said something phoneticallly seeming like Heikeshaten or Heikeshaken, but some Web searching for a professor who teaches political theory, feminist theory and "queer" theory at UMass in Boston turns up a matching page at Northeastern U. as well; both for associate professor C. Heike Schotten. I couldn't find a page with a photo of her, so couldn't confirm if C. Heike Schotten is the right match, but it definitely seems to be. UMB.edu has a page for her and the page I got at Northeastern U. is the following one. She's referred to under the topic of "Queer Theory and Politics". "Graduate Consortium in Women's Studies", Spring 2014 www.northeastern.edu/womensstudies/graduate/graduate_consortium The UMB.edu page for her profile says, quote: Areas of Expertise History of Western Political Thought, Political Theory and Philosophy, Nietzsche, U.S. Feminist Theory, Feminist Political Theory, Queer Theory End quote I won't add the UMB link, for I checked for the page for this video at TheRealNews.com in case it might provide more information and there's a note for people submitting comments, saying that comments with multiple links will be removed. So I guess that TRN or TRNN would also prefer that comments for therealnews videos at KZbin contain no more than one link. Anyway, this teach-in in support of Students for Justice in Palestine Chapter at Northeastern University is great wholly great and it's also great to learn about a student activist group or organisation in the US for the Palestinian cause. The next time that GlobalResearchTV at KZbin provides a new video about or related to the Israel-Palestine conflict, then I'll try to keep this one from TRNN in mind in order to post a comment with a link for this video. It was added to my human rights playlist as well as favourites list.

Melchersson - Im surprised and happy to hear your view. Rare as it is, most people now even refuse to talk of the genocide in Palestine and how 40years and 4 UN Resolutions later Israel and US ignore 130 plus nations in favor of Palestine. As much extremist violence that exists in the arab world as much zionist murder of civilians continues in the occupied lands. We must never not take sides, because religion and the vicious state will always sacrifice children, youth, women and men in the most savage ways.

After Chris...I feel like I went to church, and I haven't been in a church since at 12 I told my sainted Mother, that I no longer believed the bible*. Or in the Christian religion. And...that I no longer believed in God, which I now considered a human fabrication. And that I would no longer enter a church and attend Sunday school. Today, after Chris's profound sermon, I only wish that my brothers & sisters who have bought the party line, embraced the self-serving propaganda so widely disseminated without shame, that they would listen to the words Chris so aptly gifted us. But they won't. So entrenched in their belief system and world view with no tolerance for another possible reality and emphatically closing the door on a rational discourse. Crippled by their smothering cognitive dissonance. And so it goes............... Chis, Thank You. Ps! _ Years ago, I was fortunate to catch some of Chris's talks at Powell's Books in Portland. His critical and holistic thinking has had my respect ever since. *A voracious reader since five, I had read the entire New Testament.

I would encourage anyone watching this to watch the trailer for Undressing Israel: Gay Men in the Promised Land, the documentary mentioned by the professor whose name does not appear in the description. I was shocked and enthused by the apparent openness to gays in Israel portrayed. Is Mr Lucas required to answer for the treatment of Palestinians? I don't think he is. Why is an obvious lesbian criticizing a gay filmmaker for also filming "porn" in Israel? I missed the point of her choice of Lucas as a player in a larger conspiracy to silence Palestinian dissent.

@lawrenceholst38087 жыл бұрын
Muslims have to constantly defend themselves through books and literature and that's okay... we need to be doing that but I have yet to see except for a few exceptions people Western writers who get this... Furthermore the books that I'm talking about have been written by anonymous Muslims who fear repercussion and you will not find their works in any major bookstores... Even though people like Norman Finkelstein and Chris Hardeman are voices for people who are oppressed who speak up for people who are weak I.e. Palestinian and other than them even the people in the US who have been robbed blind... from their wealth and have been made into debt slaves have not even understood that hard work pays but the one who lend you the money doesn't work for it you work to pay double you have been robbed of any understanding......

That phrase "Anti-semitic" is such a lie. Arabs ARE semitic. European Jews are not. The religion had its origins in the near east with semitic people living there, but most modern day jews are not descended from that region. Those who are, and also from semitic cultures like Ethiopia, are semitic. So that's a completely bullshit thing to say and use ...even by anti-zionists like this woman speaking. There is so much hatred of Arabs and/or Muslims ..and Ethiopian jews ...THAT is anti-semitism. Get a clue intellectuals.
