Yeah, Byron is still very much a country town, surrounded by farmland. Prime kangaroo country there, as the Eastern Greys will, if not scared off, lounge around and graze in farm paddocks. They usually get on peaceably with cows, and Byron is in the Northern Rivers dairy country, so I expect a lot of dairy farms around there will have wandering 'Roos will hang around in cow paddocks.
