Beautiful version and tribute. I love Chris's voice. Watched numerous videos about Chris's life and how all these artists are connected like a patchwork quilt and how one person connects with the another and so on.

I believe the last interview Tom gave was just after his tour had ended and he was promoting Chris' upcoming album, which he produced.

Always loved Tom from the start, and til the end....went out and bought a Ric 330/12 after his passing. I'm from an age where I got into Chris Hillman first in The Desert Rose Band, and THEN the Byrds. What blew me away though, is I never knew Tom had a Flyin' Waylon W hanging on a wall in his studio. Bad ass! Anyway, I am surely picking up this CD.

Don, it's a wonderful CD. I saw Chris and Herb in concert (Malibu) Sept of 2019. They did this song as a memorial tribute to Tom. I bought the CD at this concert.

Tom was yet another innocent victim in the Pharmaceutical conglomerates Opioid epidemic. People dealing with chronic pain and trying to live their lives and do their jobs and the ensuing 'dependence' (when under the "care" of a Physician) to addiction to accidental overdose become common enough for this to become an epidemic, and these overdoses can have nothing to do with either of the above. Based on what I read, Tom was prescribed combinations of medicines, including other pain meds, and we see the sad result. His devotion to his fans and conviction that they deserved a farewell tour (in is case, others similar enough with life's demands) and this directly contributes to a confused intake schedule on a schedule that was more than he should have been enduring and surely aggravated the physical pain he was enduring in his touring and performing. People that are fully mature like Tom was realize that we're no longer 'bulletproof', but it's still easy to underestimate how serious some conditions are or can turn into. I did this myself, when I was sick enough to go to the Hospital but waited to the next day to call for an appt and the Nurse said 'get to the Hospital'. This is not said just to get someone off the phone-take this seriously. She urged the Hospital but (somewhat reluctantly) told me I could go to an Urgent Care (probably because it was an option in my plan and she had to say it) I didn't 'listen' to where she was directing me out of the two options, and took the Urgent Care option because I thought it would be faster and I could get back to what I was doing. Big mistake! Details are not necessary, but what I had had a 25% mortality rate and survivors were likely to have all kinds of remaining health and even mental acuity problems following. Whatever else is going on, don't assume and take the best advice. Tom could have perhaps lived to play another day is he hadn't pushed forward-as almost happened to me. Take care of yourself first and right now, so you can take care of others later. Even when it is something that seems so very important, nothing is as crucial to everyone and everything else from that moment on as one's health. Yes, think about what happens to others if something happens to you. Far better to go and find out it wasn't as bad as thought, but go into it aware of worse case outcomes.
