Finally someone who understands how important the bass quality is, not to mention the actual bassline itself

Hi Chris, you've been - over decades now - one of my undisputed, though widely underrated heroes. "Always coming back to you" (as Scott Walker used to sing). You see, I grew up with the TV Show 'The Man with a Suitcase', and have loved your musical genius ever since. You & Brian Marshall (The Spy with the Platinum Heart), and. partly, John Barry. You guys have it all. Thanks for being my musical guides over all theses years. No one can nearly estimate, what superb influence you had on people of all musical genres, whatsoever!!!

Hi Mike, you may be disappointed but that's how it goes : the series you're thinking about is "Man In A Suitcase" from 1967, I was 3 years old in France and never saw that series or don't remember it when it was shown here with obviously a French title. The theme music was composed by Rob Grainer. Unaware of all that I made a track in 1995 while living in London called "the man with a suitcase" because it had a spy vibe and I used a multisampled piano called "the suitcase" after the suitcase Rhodes. it was released in England in 98 on a compilation and no one told me about the series. Then I compiled tracks that had a vaguely soundtrack vibe and sent it around to English labels without success, presenting it as unreleased tracks from a succesful series, not knowing people would think it was a real series for the obvious reasons above. I came back to France, got signed and the LP came out in 1999. Then during the promo I learnt about the real series. That's one thing. The other thing is you mention "Brian Marshall (The Spy with the Platinum Heart)" which I'd never heard of, googled it, found on discogs it came out in 1987, listened to it but it didn't sound like 87 more like a recent record, on youtube it's credited as released in 2010. I couldn't find any info about Brian Marshall Orchestra, Brian Marshall being the bass player from rock band Creed, and there's no mention of that record or Orchestra in his discography. So my guess is it's basically a fake name , a fake release date (and in vinyl! but nowhere to be found or seen). What was weird at first when I saw the titles and 1987, the titles had bits of my titles in them "by night" "Fly" "Frisco" Disco", then when I heard the music, I think it came out after mine which is reassuring. Anyway, thanks !!

@@ChrisJossOfficial Hi Chris, thank you so much for your instant reply. Actually, I didn't expect any reply, it was basically 'a shot in the dark'. However, by no means would I be disappointed. It just shows, how our memory plays tricks on us. You see, it's more than 50 years now that I watched this TV show. I was a fifteen-year old teenager from Germany, and , at the time, was completely smitten with British TV shows of that era. Series like 'Danger Man' (McGoohan's predecessor to 'The Prisoner'), 'The Saint' (a young & funky Roger Moore), 'The Avengers' (Patrick McNee & Diana Rigg), and later 'The Persuaders' (Tony Curtis & Roger Moore). And, last but not least, 'Man in a Suitcase'. I don't remember the main character's name, I only know he was American, and one episode had a very young Donald Sutherland in it. Obviously, as the bad guy....sort of. And, the German title was 'Der Mann mit dem Koffer' (The man with the suitcase). It was one of the many late late shows which sometimes were tricky to watch (parents). And, back then, research was hardly possible, and I never cared too much for the original scores. That came much later. Comes to Brian Marshall (and his Orchestra), I bought it around 1987, originally released on 'Disque Noir', a subdivision of the Bam Caruso label which also (re)released the original 'The Prisoner' soundtrack. And, I surely believed it was 'real'. It was supposed to be the soundtrack of an 'anti Bond movie' that, due to rather mysterious reasons never hit the box office. It was absolute cult back then to own this (vinyl) record, and if you look at the flip side of the cover, it sure looks like one of the earlier Bond movies from the 60's. Like, say, Dr. No, or Goldfinger. Adams was the main character's name, and everything was listed as a 'normal' soundtrack. I mean, all this happened years before the internet as we know it, so forgive me my naiveté, if you can. Back then, and still today, I was/am driven by this unbridled enthusiasm for good music. A life elixir, I could never live without. So, whoever you really are, regardless of your age, or whereabouts, I appreciate you as one of the finest craftsman of instrumental, soundtrack-like tunes, like they were conceived in the 60's & early 70's. I see you in the tradition of all the great names, like Rob Grainer, John Barry, Piero Umiliano, and and and..... Those were the best days for original & innovative music, anyway, and it's good & comforting to know that it's being kept alive. My last question would be: are you still actively producing? And, if yes, please let me know about present & future releases. Thank you for the music!

Hi Mike thanks. I just found your answer in the "held for review" section while on my computer, although when I've looked up on my phone regularly there was nothing there... Thanks for your presentation, I'm really surprised you bought that Brian Marshall LP in vinyl in 1987. You mention the back cover but it's nowhere to be found. Post it on Discogs. Honestly there are too many weird things in that story, I have my doubts about who you say you are, the release date of the album, the story behind it, the label, everything. If you found me on my KZbin channel you should easily find all my releases ;)
