Ah Chris , you bring a dark story to life in a way nobody else does. Fresh out of the play book of the hill country back woods rural folk of the 1930's - 40's. Roles were simple compared to today, but people worked hard,lived hard, and found beauty in their surroundings. Thanks for caring enough to sing a song about their live's to the world. I can still remember when my Pops got Chris’ first album. I’m a metal head so at first I hated it. The more my Pops and I went fishing, deer hunting or just riding around together the more I became the one to pick his albums to jam to. I took to Pretty Good Guy first and almost 25 years later Chris is still one of my favorite artists. None of the contemporary pop country garbage can touch Chris’ stuff.
