A lot of people said Ant as a RB and I think that's not a good position for Ant, he's too tall so they'd go for folding him in half. But as a CB or even safety he could pull it off.

My dark horse is Donovan Mitchell. He’s like 6’2, 225 lbs and his combine measurables were elite( at or near tops in lateral movement, standing/max vert/, and court sprint). Obviously he’d have to be conditioned for the punishment, but he has the requisite explosiveness and rare physicality for his height/position in basketball.

Just watched his rant after Nick Wright gave the shoutout. The only thing that he said there that I disagreed with was "I don't wanna dislike Austin Rivers". I was like why not? He's very dislikeable.

Brock Lesner was on the Vikings preseason team but got cut. He is a literal beast and maybe if football was his primary sport, he could have been a good player? Unlike many think, NFL players need to pay attention to the many coaching lessons learned over several years to be proficient in their positions. Ant could be a great wideout but not sure how fast his 40 yard speed is. And then he'd need to learn how to run effective routes. I'm sure he could catch very well. Justin Jefferson is a master at running routes for separation and is fast but not as fast as many other NFL wideouts.

I am intrigued by elite soccer players vs the NBA. The cardio and footwork screams defensive stoppers, then the ability to track and win-win 50/50 rebounds. Anyway, the entire topic is classic sports talk blather, everyone can have a take.

Olajuwon. He wasn't elite (as far as I know), but he played football before he got so tall that basketball became the more logical choice, and commentators, coaches, other players always raved about his footwork in the post. I would guess some other foreign-born players in the NBA probably have similar histories given how much more popular football is everywhere outside the US.

The real issue would be the physicality. Players considered rough and tough on the nba would be at the absolute bottom of toughness mentally and physically. Go to a AAU basketball tourney and tell they could play in the NFL going forward. This is comical. NBA Tough DOESN'T Equal NFL Tough

I believe an NBA player would struggle to comprehend an NFL playbook. The expression on their face would be one of complete bewilderment. They would be unfamiliar with the terminology and have no idea how a defense is structured. Nonetheless, witnessing their failure would be quite entertaining.

Vince Wilfork, who is definitely an athlete but he’s not exactly competing for any Mr. Olympia or whatever, I don’t care if you take any NBA playing today, they act like some can just walk on right now, give them a year of training even, wilfork is tearing through every last one of them 100% of the time and twice on Sunday.
@japethegrape1146
@japethegrape1146 24 күн бұрын
Because football guys can put on that weight, basketball players need to run around. Vince is big but he’s only 6’4, you really don’t think that if 6’6 284 Zion was able to put on weight that he wouldn’t be able to stop him? Football players are allowed to get bigger because they don’t need the stamina basketball players do, Jokic could be much bigger than he is but he wouldn’t be able to jog up and down the court. Let’s see Wilfork try to run up and down 94 feet for even 10 minutes 😭😭😭
@japethegrape1146
@japethegrape1146 24 күн бұрын
The build comparison is stupid because they train for different things. The real difference is basketball requires every player to possess multiple skills and be able to do multiple things while in football you just need to be good at a single thing
@jodythomas4324
@jodythomas4324 24 күн бұрын
Ya I feel like your kind of proving my point a bit with your last comment, exactly football players are designed to be good at one particular thing especially lineman players, and also you use Zion as an example, it’s not just coming down to size which is a factor but ultimately skill set, being a jack of all trades also makes you a master of none, Wilfork is not multi faceted but he is a Master of One thing, and that’s his skill set as a Defensive Tackle. Again, you could give an NBA player a year to prep but they better be more concerned with honing in their craft for a specific position as opposed to just worrying solely about getting bigger.

Let’s be real a lot of these players played multiple sports and played multiple sports well but athleticism is not the only thing needed. Steven Adams (strongest mf in the NBA IYKYFK) Lebron James(6’9 250 a freaky athletic TE) Anthony Edwards( a true athlete in every sense of the word) Shaedon Sharpe(6’6 athletic corner or receiver) Zion Williamson(considering he’s healthy a decent TE or FB maybe)

Sigh. NBA players aren't scared or cowards. Sadly, players "flop" because they're incentivized to draw a call. Doesn't mean certain players are completely soft. Some actually were GOING TO THE NFL... Here's a list of players either or could have in their prime. Lebron James--- just like R. Moss, he would've been a high pick being highly skilled in HS basketball & football. Also, he's a freak of nature. Anthony Edwards--- he loves contact and played football. Josh Hart--- I don't know his background. Maybe he can't play football, but we can believe if he trained toward football being an iron man, he might've made it as a tall receiver. Russell Westbrook --- HIGHLY explosive. Loves contact. Hard to count the times if he was WVER injured. I'm not putting Zion Williamson. He's injury prone.
