why teams don't run the side pick n roll like stockton malone more often cause nowadays they only run high pick n roll. it would be a great action for cp3 and blake now especially cause blake can hit the 15 footer better now

There is better spacing in high pick and roll and the “tag” reads are much easier

1:20 he ignores the mismatch of the tall guy with the short opponent and he calls pick n roll; if he did it to score three is brilliant but tactically it was paradoxical

The reason he shoots instead of the pass is because 1) the shot clock is going to end and a pass takes too much time, 2) the big guy you talked about DeAndre Jordan is well guarded and making the pass there is an easy steal.

Plus even if the pass to DeAndre is made he would be immediately met by Dwight Howard, a great rim protector.

@@yesmymajestybut898 no, I did not mean to pass. He shouldn't have called pick n roll, he has advantage over the tall. It was poor tactical choice but he is so skillful that even that way he scored the three

TsampoukasG ah I see what you mean. Even then though it’s not the best option. To do what you explained, the ball must go to the wing, then into the post and reasons that wouldn’t work is again, the time constraints, and Dwight Howard, looming in the paint. Since Dwight is guarding a guy who can’t shoot he can easily double DeAndre, which would most certainly be a turnover.
