Great tutorial. Just getting back into animation and trying to establish a good workflow for projects Ive got in mind. The Apple Pencil was a revolution for me, just finding the right software has been difficult

Thanks! Glad you found it useful. Adobe Fresco is great for adding motion to illustration, but if you’re looking for full on animation, it’s a bit limited. That said it’s generally perfect for things like this or other little loops.

Hah I don’t think they have any plans on making it a monthly thing. They’re proud of it being free for most features. And they’re also aware they’re competing with Procreate.

okay guys, but what do you think if you have a lot insight and a good feedback and you can to maintain it for a another decades. I think the best way your audience to pay your work is from bundles you've offer to subscribting the facilities you have upgraded that compete with other applications.

Thanks for the lesson. I'm wondering if there's a way to color below the black outlines? Like in a separate layer. Having to color within the black lines repeatedly is time consuming and if I want to change the color, the black line changes to a different color too.

Im not really creating anything at the moment, but if you guys dont know about Blender and its grease pencil, it might really interest you. there is so many shortcuts compared to this approach. But overall Fresco seems really nice 👍👍

Good to know. What I like about animating in Fresco is that it’s all within the same app that I’m normally drawing in so all the brushes/tools are the same. There’s also a ton of other ways to add motion that require a lot less work using all the path features.

You probably won’t see this or reply to this, but if you did that’d be super greatly appreciated!! So from 16:30 till around 16:47 you had a loop of 3 frames then you duplicated it 3 more times overlapping the previous frames to make it longer. My question is, is there a way to duplicate multiple frames at once instead of manually doing it frame by frame?? (It can get tedious after a while) I’m asking because I plan on making like a minute animation and don’t want to do copy & paste each frame manually. Any answer is greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

Unfortunately not, I wish there was an easier way. I think it’s bc Fresco isn’t really meant to be a full animation app, but rather for adding looping motion to an other static illustration.

Hey Chris great Video! I just switched from procreate to FR. I am doing animations on it however everytime I download a MP4 or Gif the quality gets all blury. When I was using procreat I just downloaded an animated png and the quality stayed. Any tips on that?

Thanks! Sometimes when you export it auto selects a lower resolution to keep the file size down. You can change that. If it doesn’t show other options I find that toggling to another file format option usually shows different size options. I’ll select it there and then go back to my preferred file type.

this is a great tutorial. one of my questions though is is it possible to make an animation with multiple animated components (like your dog) move across the screen? im trying to animate a fairy with moving body parts and would love them to bob up and down but dont see a way to do it 😞

Unfortunately to move it on a path you’d have to have the fairy moving in one sequence and then you could set that sequence onto a motion path.

Hi! I bought the rsco brush pack and I added it to adobe fresco but when I restart the fresco app all my library brushes disappear. anyone else experiencing this issue or know how to fix it?

Hmm that’s strange. I don’t know why that would happen. Did you make sure you were still logged in?

I don't think that's possible yet, but I would imagine it might be coming. To get around that I just duplicate the frame as many times as I need. It's not ideal, but also pretty simple.

Not easily, as there’s no over arching timeline where you can spread things out. fresco is more for adding motion to an illustration rather than full on animation.

Hmm, I have some classes on skillshare but none that are specific how to draw classes. In my Animation in Fresco class I do talk about my process for drawing the characters. I do have some videos in my Adobe Fresco playlist that talk about how I draw things. I'd also check out some of Tom Froese's classes/videos.

On Adobe you can see it’s 9.99/year (unless you already use Adobe creative cloud, in which case it’s included): www.adobe.com/products/fresco.html Adobe Fresco Single App Plan (Yearly) for $9.99/year Adobe Fresco + PS Plan (Monthly) for $9.99/month I think there are some high-resolution limitations in the free version. I don’t use that one so I’ll have to look into it.

Yes, they still write that on their product page, I did check this, they explain how to subscribe, however, this option is definitely not available anymore. The only option is to get it combined with PS and this for almost 99/year. I tried a zillion times on my iPad and with ID via Apple login and Adobe ID. It is not there.
