A great variation to a card trick I learned in the mid 80's. Same trick, different presentation. This is great.

I like moving the forced card to the 2nd position, so you only have to do the glide one time, and the spectator doesn't see the same card twice.

I have done this trick probably 100 times and no one yet has said stuff about that because of the fact that you mess up on purpose they think you are just messing up again xD

depends on their execution and the person. usually people don't worry about any other card unless it's their card

Not at all. Normal people are looking for the right card, and dismiss the wrong ones without a second thought. People able to count cards would probably notice it, though. Just to check, I went back to the video and looked closely: the first card he shows is the 3 of clubs, then the 7 of diamonds, and then 8 of hearts and again the 3 of clubs. By the way, he shows them at the same time, with a flourish and keeping the 3 back a little from the 8. There is a trick going around Internet which is a different play on the same theme - we don't pay attention to the cards we didn't pick. It shows you six cards and asks you to remembre one of your own chosing. Then he shows you the cards again and lo and behold, your card disappeared. Wow. Now do it again, but write down the cards on the first batch. Then let the trick play through, and compare: none of those cards are in the second batch. when you do the trick you shouldn't mention the name of the card just have the spectator say yes or no to each card. When you mention the name of the card you run the risk of embedding it in their brain and more of a chance of them realizing they saw the same card twice.

Anyone else know any tricks like these? This type of trick is flashy and easy to do with easy slight if hands and no breaks or setups that could be exposed, which is why it’s my favorite to perform to anyone. Tricks that have math involved seem to bore my spectators and tricks with breaks are easily exposed.

how come ppl dont smell something fishy when the 4 remaining cards are "double checked", and one of them (in this video it is the 3 of spades) gets shown twice, despite that it has clearly been placed down on the table...once at 2:40 he shows the 3oS, "puts it down" and then at 2:55 he shows it again...wouldn't it be an obvious question 'hey youve already put that down a few seconds ago why is it still in your hand?"

Just one thing you missed. On the Chris Pratt trick, he is not the one holding the cards.

when he has Will.I.Am hold the cards he gets him to GRIP his card and loosely places the other cards there! As long as the Volunteer is tightly holding the chosen card the others will fall away when struck

Jason X: Watch the will graham video....right at the 1:00 mark he slowly riffles through the cards and even pauses slightly at the 3rd card. From there on it's all false cuts and false shuffles.

The way I've always done it is when you push it into their fist, you make sure the bottom card (theirs) is sticking slightly further out than the rest. It'll be the one that stays.

This is not EXACTLY how he did it, but it's pretty much the same. In fact, Chris sort of messed up and revealed the card ( ace of hearts) before the trick was complete. At 5.33 in the original video , you can see he brought up 2 cards at the same time ( to cause confusion) one of which was Ace of hearts and you can hear JLaw saying "oh it was the ace of hearts wasn't it". But he dismisses the cards before getting a reaction. Then simply brings it to the bottom. These guys however didn't reveal the card until the end, because they pushed the card once again and put a fake card down.

I always have the spectator make a fist and hold their fist in a position so fingers are horizontal, then I slide the cards in a stack not fanned between the index finger and middle finger and I ask them to hold it firmly but not too tight. Then I hit the cards from the top and it leaves the bottom card(their chosen card) then I tell them to turn over the card that is still in their fist. I think it works better.

He kept the same three cards on top during all those shuffles. He peeked and saw the Ace was the third card down when he checked the deck 52 seconds into the original video, before the shuffles. Go watch, the camera catches it. Then watch the shuffles very closely...the top cards never get mixed in.
