A portion of Chris Pronger's press conference, held the eve of his return to Rexall ice for the first time since "personal reasons" forced his trade from the Oilers to the Ducks.
The first question is cut off, but he doesn't answer it anyway....same with the rest of the questions.

Here's what happened: Pronger tells Lowe mid-season that he wants to be traded. Lowe tries to talk him out of it. Pronger doesn't back down, and at the end of the season reminds Lowe that he wants to be traded. Lowe says fine, but it will only be when we get fair return, and that may mean sitting out part of next season. Pronger tells his agent and heads to Mexico, his agent calls up Stratchan in Toronto, he leaks it to the media, and Lowe has to make a move quick before Edmonton implodes

I'm no gm, but you don't have to be a gm to know a prime Eberle is better than a 40 year old Pronger. Past achievements doesn't make a player good today. Would Gretzky be better than every player in the NHL today if he laced them back up because of all of his previous awards?

@FlyersFan7 What about Mike Richards and Jeff Carter? Both men took a pay cuts and both signed 11 years, lied to (that they would not be traded) only to be shipped away because of Pronger's ego. So much for loyalty to a organization. Pronger's ruined yet another team.

@@eldoabrahamson LOL! Justin Schultz is no Chris Pronger that's for sure. When Justin Schultz was defenseman for the Oilers he was a huge MINUS and the team was consistently at the bottom of the league. When Chris Pronger was defenseman for the Oilers he had a huge PLUS and took the team all the way to game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals. Justin Schultz is a one-trick pony and a coattail rider which is what he has proven himself to be in Pittsburgh.

we need to make a winning team again, not by the free agents but by the draft. The oilers need to form a groom there own players. These overpayed pre madonna's aren't welcome in Edmonton anymore, they come in sign a big contract ,win over all the fans then take a shit on the city and the awesome fans and ask for a trade. im not from Edmonton i live on the other side of the country but i think this is bullshit whats been going on in Edmonton!!.

no he retired for a reason, if he could still keep up pace I'm sure he'd still be playing. Edmonton miss the playoffs by just 3 points a few seasons after pronger left, when pronger was in Edmonton they just barley made it as well. Pronger wasn't the player who was injured in the 06 Stanley Cup finals, it was Roloson. Pronger finished the series but Edmonton still lost in game 7. I'm pretty sure Roloson had more to do with Edmonton going to the finals in 06 then Pronger did
