The vocalists name is Donovan Melero, and he's also the drummer. Will swan signed them to his record label blue swan records back in the day. Swancore is a nickname for the kind of melodic post-hardcore sound that DGD made famous and most of the bands that are a part of it are signed to that lable.

Bands like Hail The Sun, Stolas, Eidola, Royal Coda, Dance Gavin Dance, Secret Band, Wolf & Bear, Sianvar, etc. are under the "Swancore" genre! It's called Swancore because of the style being similar to Will Swan's, or Will Swan himself being involved with, most of the bands in this specific corner of the post-hardcore scene, either through his own label, Blue Swan Records, or through some of the other bigger players, like Rise Records, Equal Vision Records, and Esque Records.

I believe they are known as Swancore. I honestly sat down and listened to their whole Wake album and it was all amazing. I also noticed, that any of their songs that say explicit, are bangers.

WAKE IS A MASTERPIECE HTS ARE GENIUS. "Repellent" from Secret Wars is super interesting too you'll like it. Relax / divide and Jane doe are slow songs from Wake . Swancore are all the associated acts of will Swan. Will swan is the founder of DGD and his record label blue swan records released WAKE. And Shane Gann does the screams in several songs in Wake and Elephantitis so there is 2 singers but donovan does growls , screams, and cleans now all himself in their most recent works. The guitarist Shane also has a band called SUFFERER which falls under the swancore genre that has some insane guitar tracking like this with even darker subject matter. Thanks for giving these great musicians exposure!

Have you checked out the band Eidola yet? I would suggest checking out tetelestai by them. They're on Blue Swan Records and their lead singer is a touring member for DGD along with featuring on some songs and on Tree City Sessions 2

Absolutely. If he's listening to all of these bands, he's definitely going to hit Eidola soon and kick himself for not doing it sooner. Plus, there's a lot of evidence that we'll get a new album this year before their tour starts in the fall.

Their EP Elephantitis is I think their best most raw work. Wake is definitely my favorite LP from them. Sometimes Shane Gann one of their 2 guitarists will provide some harsh backing vocals on some tracks. I recommend Ow! (Splidao!) [I like it, Though] it's the opening track off Elephantitis!

Swancore refers to bands on Will Swans label (Blue Swan Records) that use a very technical, and often chaotic, playing style. Will is kind of the father of this genre since his name is in it i guess lol. Royal Coda is a another Swancore band you should check out, this is Kurts current band and Will is in it too. Numbing Agent is incredible one of my favorites by them.

A lot of Northern California acts have that “dance Gavin dance” quality. But will swan of DGD owns a record label that hail the sun is now signed to. But Will Swan Is also in another band called secret band with Donovan (who’s the singer and drummer of hail the sun) along with some other members from Stolas and I think one other group. The prog rock/math rock groups all have that similar DGD quality. Swan core is basically a subset of artists because basically everyone on his label has the sound you’re picking up on.
