My wife got me this knife for my birthday this year. I wanted a Sebenza forever and carry it every day. It's hard to talk yourself into putting a $600 knife in your pocket every morning but when you whip this bad boy out you will smile every time.

I bought both a large and small Sebenza in 1996 (couldn't make up my mind on which size... so I bought both for about $ 500.00) then I bought a large 2000 Sebenza for $300.00 around 2001. They are real work horses and are still serving me well today !!!

I got the small 31 pj drop point fairly recently. That stays in my pocket most of the time and has kicked out my bugout and deka. I used to have this thing against not carrying anything over 2.5 oz since i was always in gym shorts but the seb changed that. The quality and feel of crk gave me a new perspective on my edc and im pretty content with my small seb, it's currently my #1. I do have a large 31 pj drop point on the way though because i just want the big ol classic and since i believe its the signature Chris Reeve item that started it all. That's more for collection and im pretty sure that wont get pocket time due to my daily needs and practicality. It will probably just be at home 97% of the time. Either way, my current rotation revolves around the following and depends what im wearing and where im going.. 1. Small seb 2. Qc Chase 3. We banter 4. Mini bugout

All my CRKs are S45VN, plain Jane versions and I love them all. I might get a Sebenza with inlays in the magnacut insingo blade after I get a couple other of the higher end stuff I’ve been looking at, just for something a little different.

I have the small version of this only with double lugs. One of my favorite knives if not the top of the list, bar none and one I'll never part with. I like other knives, The Nine, The Atom, even the Endela in K390, but the Magnacut Sebenza is just special.

I like the snail trails on mine. These are so plain, it adds character. I like the aged but clean look, like when someone has an old Buck 110.

I’m a bit of a CRK fan boy with over 30 of them. One of the better premium American production blades. My typically carry is either a Large CRK, McNees MAC2 3.5, Koenig Arius, Shiro F95 or Strider SMF/SnG. All things considered, it’s hard to beat a CRK as a general purpose pocket knife. Proven design, very good form factor, and it’s a lifetime knife with great customer service and post purchase services such as blade replacements, spa services etc

One word: DON'T. You will be disappointed. There are better (more ergonomic), smoother knives for a fraction of the price. If you want bragging rights as to how much money you can spend on a knife, go for it. But that's the only reason I can come up with for owning one (yeah, I have a couple for that exact reason). Not smooth out of the box. Don't buy the "you have to break it in" means WEAR it in. For that price, the tolerance should come that way from the factory! They are NOT hand comfortable, they are slab sided monstrosities. Look at your hand, the shortest fingers (grip) are exactly where the Sebenza is THICKEST. This makes no sense at all.Comfortable knives are exactly the opposite. For instance, feel an XM-18 vs a Sebenza and you'll immediately feel the difference..and for the same money you get a CHOICE of pivot feel. Nuff said.

@@zachstuff Thank you. Have a pretty large collection of premium knives (195), but rarely carry them and the CRs I own have never cut anything but air. That changes with this one. Plain scale small 31 is an ideal EDC knife for me and with MagnaCut I’ve decided I’m going to use this one in a small rotation of knives to get some first hand experience with that blade steel. I enjoy your vids. Keep up the great content!

@@BartlettRacing66 There is really no way to take it apart incorrectly. In fact, they promote the idea that you can reassemble it and torque the pivot down as hard as you like without affecting function. Obviously this isn't so OR their quality control just does not justify the price. There was a time when their machining of titanium was among the best. Unfortunately they have been left behind now and are trying to live on a 15 year old reputation. Sad.
@N4DJC
@N4DJC Жыл бұрын
@@BartlettRacing66 there’s an easy way and a hard way to disassemble a 31. The easiest method is shown in the KZbin video by Tim Reeve (remove the blade first). The hard way is to remove the handle with the blade still in place. Don’t go overboard with the Fluorinated grease, don’t flip the washers (shiny side facing the blade). I’d be cautious in removing the stop pin, try to get it indexed as it was when removed (much easier to tune). You can tune the stop pin by easing off the screw lightly. Some 31’s need a longer break in. You can use 222 Loctite and ease off the pivot screw very slightly to make it easier to open until it smooths out.
