Great detailed comparison, thanks. I would love if they made a mid-size 21/31, as the large sometimes is too bulky for carry and the small is a bit too small for a comfortable grip. If I recall, I think Nick Shabazz also felt a mid-size variant would be a nice option.

The Inkosi is a nice blade shape, but really miniature...indeed, I removed the clip and using a lineyard and leather pouch... it's a great Knife and actually I didn't take the same blade as the one in your video but it's a great Knife overall... more simple plain, prefer the action from the sebenza 31, great description...inkosi makes a more hydrolic feel in the action... love it

Hi, Erica, just catching up with your back catalogue, (recent sub), 🤙,, so, the opening method is the same action as opening a Spyderco,?? (C shape),, I'm expecting my first CRK tomorrow, It's a small Inkosi in Magnacut,, I'm on a very limited budget, so it will be "one and done" for this old guy,, 🤣, All the best from across the pond,, 🇬🇧

Great video showing the two of them side-by-side. I actually have XL hands and I’ve always liked the way that the small inkosi fits. I have a lot of pictures over in a thread on blade forums from back in 2015, or maybe even a little earlier, where I punished the death out of my small Inkosi. And did things that were making people cringe. And it took every bit of it and kept coming back for more. I absolutely love the Inkosi platform. I currently only have a large one now, but would love to pick up another small. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts after some testing with the two.

When I got my ZT 0640 it took awhile to get used to the opening of it. It’s the first knife I got with a thumb disc as opposed to a thumb stud or Spydie hole. You would not think it make a difference but it did. Now I’m used to it, it broke in well. It is the same as the Sebenza in the sense you need to open it like a C shape.

Great advice for the newbies on opening. I was that guy sitting there going "What the Hell?" When I figured it out it was like the sun coming up over the ridge, lighting up the valley...lol! My Large Magnacut Inkosi Insingo blade is freakin' awesome. Love your reviews. Keep up the great job.

Hey Erica!!! Really liking the sebenza bog oak wood magnacut, and will keep it for clean work while I recently pulled the trigger on a small inkosi plain which I will use for everyday... the weight was perfect for edc, will let you know, getting the inkosi insigo plain 2morrow, hope it won't be too small... love, Alain

My small Sebenza 31 did not come with port & starboard studs, but just one and it does have the Micarta inlays. Think that the large I have coming also has only one also. Both in plain jane silver. I think the results will be interesting for sure.

Fun fact/food for thought... the small inkosi has the same cutting length as the PM3. I hated the first one I had. Second one, I swapped out the thumb studs for "normal" bugout style studs and it is now one of my all time favorite knives. Who would have known.

I'm not really one for mini knives but if we were to scale this up to the large versions, I'd probably go with the Sebenza because I have disgustingly huge hands so those grooves that tell you where to put your fingers most likely wouldn't be so great for me

Everybody always talks about wanting a medium Sebenza, but I kinda think that the Inkosi sizes, running a bit shorter like they do, would make for medium perfection. Right around a 3.25" blade, it would really be just perfect.

Hi, very good review, i have just a question: between small sebenza 31 and small inkosi, which has more tip? I think small sebenza because small inkosi has "more belly" in the first part of the sharp side?

That depends on the blade shape(;

A trick I like to do is put a dab of CRK grease on either side of the lanyard pin. No more wobbles
@ericasedc2 жыл бұрын
Interesting!!
@AliceBrumley2 жыл бұрын
I did the trick where you leave a small piece of paracord in the lanyard pin, and then very carefully melt it on either side of the lanyard pin hole. The little bit of melted cord is enough to keep the pin from rattling around, but can look a bit ugly. I rotate the pin so the hole/melted cord doesn’t show. I like the grease suggestion, may have to try that out next time I break down the knife for cleaning!

It's definitely slicey that's for sure. I just bought my first Seb 31 last week (thanks to you) and I was opening and closing it and I closed it on my thumb and almost sliced the tip off. Super glue to the rescue. It's definitely a different type of knife from any other I've owned, but in a good way. When I first took it out of the box it was a struggle to open than after opening and closing it 1000x plus (I counted) it was really starting to smooth out especially when closing. Now I'm jonesing to use it but I can't until my thumb heals. Like you mentioned keep your fingers out of the way!!! 👍🩸
