I'll miss him terribly. The last true bad ass just rode off into the sunset. There goes a guy that did not give fuck any time ever. No one to tell it like it is anymore. He didn't have anyone in his pocket. A real outlaw. The radio is pointless now. Time for me to get on the fffing Radio. I'll him him each and every day.

Im a broadcàter for 38 years.i was the first fill in engineer in 1988 at wean radio.(I have listened to many final Farwell shows from legends. THEY ARE ALL WEIRD IN SOME WAY.they are all WEIRD because you the listener and the personality are ALL on a different and WEIRD PSYCHOLOGICAL REALM.so now that was...not a live microphone drop...it was a recording of a microphone rep-i assume that Don wanted that as the final thing to be heard. It wasn't live..because if Don had really dropped the Mic to the floor there would have been some kind of a far as away sound.(Don ended his show in this WEIRD sound and unique sou d-because you the audience and Don were always on a WEIRD and unique realm.(Ingram did a WEIRD sound to on his very last 8 seconds.doctor Don rose of KFRC was so WEIRD in the final 9 seconds...that he actually mis timed himself saying good bye and then did very WEIRD body language posturing at the end. I WAS in the old WABC music radio show studio in 1978-be a use I was a huge Dan Ingram fan. EVERYTHING WAS WEIRD IN THAT STUDIO TO. It's all because we the audience and the broadcaster are simultaneously in the same WEIRD REALM.like we are all in HEAVEN.now that's heavy thinking.(just listen to done strange and spiritual voice inflection...as he says ...God damn it....that's WHAT we ALL DID.don was LITERALLY TALKING TO HIMSELF AND US...FROM HEAVEN. wow. Been a fan in the U.K for 18 years great show ruined my holiday couldn’t leave the T.V set absolutely riveting. Got nothing like him here will just keep watching the KZbin.

Imus was great in his day, only Stern was better, but he went off the rails the last couple years, damn near unlistenable.

Stern was more POPULAR had better ratings. But IMO Imus was the more versatile personality. More talented. Again, with respect, it’s just my opinion. And I’m 5 years late with this.
